for starters, how about the rest of the pieces to the carbs?MattC said:Help!!! I wired everything, and nothing happened.
What are the bare essentials I need to get this engine running?

Why the fuck would you try to start it without the exhaust connected? Just lazy?MattC said:Stupid question, should I have have the exhaust connected to the engine before trying to start it?
This is my drawn diagram of what I tried to get the engine started today with no luck.
I am waiting on an order that should be here Monday.
-new NGK spark plugs
-new NGK spark plug boots
-multimeter
- and I already installed a brand new ignition coil
When I have my multimeter I will run some test and make sure my starter solenoid, could, starter motor, wires, ect are good and go from there.
When I kick start the engine it sounds like it wants to start so that's a good sign of compression right?
Once again, thanks for putting me up with my stupid questions! I'm still determined to get this bike running!

I'm sorry but this is actually painful to watch kid.
Read this thread again, go have a cry about it, then get your shit together.
Trek, by definition you are now officially insane.
He's just learning. He's not female.trek97 said:However Matt, you may want to consider FINANCING a small bike that runs AND HAS A WARRANTY. While learning on this machine.
Something like this..

I was referring to Rebel part, not the getting a new bike part.trek97 said:exactly right. but, too much frustration while learning and a guy is destined to give up. so, atleast this way he could have some fun, while learning.
DohcBikes said:Nevermind where it's made, people used to shun "that jap shit" too.
