Got the new speedo and indicators fitted yesterday. looks like I will have to ditch the motolanna seat though. I can not get it to work with the bike- it just does not give me the clearance over the rear tyre to mount anything. in australia- if you dont have the license plate front and centre and readable from both sides of the bike- the cops go nuts. looks like i will be putting a fibreglass seat hump on instead. might also be getting a race tank from a friend who has one in his shed from the 70s! he gets back from holidays in 6 weeks
Ordered a tr500 replica racing tank and tail section from http://www.discovolantemoto.co.uk/
can't wait until it arrives! now to decide what colour to paint them. I would like to keep the side covers the stock colour to keep something original.
I am thinking of paint colours for the tank and tail section. I want to keep the side covers original so was thinking gold for the tank and tail? is that too much? what colour would look good? thanks
I would go for the JPS colors, black and some gold striping. Have a look at the old Lotus F1 cars.
You should be able to pick some old side covers from ebay that you can get painted.
Very nice! If you don't want to paint the panels just paint the tank same colour as the side panels with some sort of white striping. Personally I would paint everything in one of the old t500 colours, maybe the purple metallic with white/cream.
nice work, this little sucker will be a sweet ride when she's all done. what are you using for the seat trim? i think brown or tan leather would look the business.
the hardest part of this build is believe it or not- putting new fuel lines on!! holy cow- it is almost impossible to get them on there- too damn tight!
