1975 CB360 Freeze-dried Hell Ride

Yea that skateboard deck would kill ya manhood... I had no pad for a while and could only go about 30 minutes max. At least the bikes were larger than a cb350. I still think I would end up on a touring bike to go that far with confidence.

Just drilled out my clutch- 3,2,3,2. Enter heavy duty 350 clutch springs and we're about to find GO.

Nice! thats a great, fun, easy mod. you're gonna love it.
You should adjust it to about 1/2 - 3/4 inch free play at the tip of the lever.

Hey Trek what's the difference between the Rotella regular vs the blue bottle synthetic? Just curious since they both have a JASO-MA rating and elevated levels of valve friendly additives. Difference in the clutch feeling is what I am asking. I have seen people use both.

Im sorry bud I have never used the reg rotella. My clutch started slipping badly using the Mobile 1 motorcycle. When I rebuilt the clutch the guys here recommended the rotella (blue). my clutch dont slip at all now. I couldnt be happier w it. so, I dont know for sure if it was more to do w disks, springs or oil. But, I have had this going for a couple 3 years now. and still no issues.

OR...the other guy that rode from Pittsburg? to KY on his Honda 550 w wooden skateboard deck...No pad at all, just the nonskid tape on the surface!!!

Yes, that guy was a maniac. Makes the 10 hour ride on my seat look like a pleasure cruise.

I believe Doug and Jim had the longest ride this year, from Pittsburgh.

Woooooo! This thing is a blast! It pulls off the line now and it has lift that was never there before. There was clutch slip before I didn't realize was there; but it's there no more. Carbs are synced and everything is sorted out. We need to get this setup on the dyno.

Right on! And while the guy from Pitt and I might have been contenders last year, he didn't soak in the hot tub afterward, so I'm pretty sure he wins.

Get thee to a drag strip

'You'll shoot your eye out' ;)
Be damn careful until you get a bit used to it, it can 'bite' 8)
Oh, 'blue bottle' is 5w/40 instead of 10w/40. Works fantastic though. It was my 'secret weapon' for a year or two ;D
Dyno should be somewhere around 35~38 bhp at the wheel (Honda number is at the crank)

I'm seething with jealousy
Don't seethe too hard. I got about a quarter mile from work today when everything went dead. A fuse blew, and of course I didn't carry any spares. Got the wife to bring me fuses, but they kept burning out. I had a short. Several of my students drove by, along with parents, making me the talk of the school today. Wooooo. At first chance I had the wife take me home to get the truck, loaded up the bike and drove home pissed. I spent about three hours digging for the short, which I thought was in the headlight bucket since I just installed an LED neutral dummy light and hooked up the gauge lights. I couldn't figure it out, so I ate dinner, shot whiskey and went back out to the garage. Within 5 minutes, I figured out the right side coil mount loosened up enough that the positive wire on the coil was grounding to the mount. Fucking A.

I feel ya... I took the BMW for a ride yesterday and it got wild fluctuations on the tach sputtered and died. Once it cooled all good... Might be a bad coil. But a fun ride for lunch with my buddies turned into me ridding bitch and taking two hours to get her home. Still haven't pulled the tank to see what is happening. Gotta love these old bikes!

A question I've struggled to get a definitive answer to: Is the rear wheel perfectly centered to the rear hoop, and spaced evenly between the rear shocks? Everything seems square and my axle is even at the marks on the swing arm. The chain looks squarely in line with each sprocket. However, the rear wheel is offset when looking at the bike from behind. I assume if the wheels are incorrectly offset, the bike would tend to travel with yaw which would create a noticeable handling issue. I don't notice any of that.

The offset swingarm is probably what's throwing you off. This bike has some funky asymmetry, the wonky engine cradle, offset swingarm... Being whiskey-drunk won't help either heheh

But as far as I can tell on my bike, the tires line up.

Well, I found that funny.
Just remember, it's much better to be talked about than ignored ;)
I always build wheels without offset, can't even remember if there should be some on front to compensate for the speedo drive?
