Yeah thats the plan.
Really don't want to shell out for the gauge however. But better safe than sorry for sure.
I cant decide if I should get a gauge and check it first or if I should get a new sending unit?
Anyone know the easiest place to hook up a gauge? (can I just put one in place of the sending unit?)
You could "T" off at sending unit. The oil pressure gauge was the most important gauge in my racecar. Over heating will tell you you have a problem before causing any damage. You lose oil pressure and you won't know till the motor breaks, and that usually is seconds to a minute before major damage occurs.
Of course I get the carbs pulled and rejected and the damn gaskets are about a 1/2 inch too long thanks to the gasoline.
Ill try the freezer overnight bit it's looking like another fucking week until I can ride this thing again.
Getting frustrated.
The freezer trick worked pretty much. A little superglue and the carbs are back in.
After 30 minutes of wrestling with the damn air plenum I said duck it, threw it across the shop and grabbed the pod filters.
From reading on here I was expecting a terrible running bike. In fact it runs way better than it did with the factory box. Pulls hard right up to 10k.
Problem is now that I'm revving it high I notice my clutch is slipping above 6k which is disappointing.
It's sort of funny the bike is revving like a freaking angry panther and the speedo just kind of sloooooowly climbs.
So, next question for you knowledgeable folks:
What should I check to treat this clutch issue. I'm going to readjust it in a few minutes and see if I helps, but I'm thinking its adjusted fine already....hmmm
Next winter it will get a really nice paint job, havent decided on color yet. But for this season it will stay like it is, i kind of like the old worn out look to the paint at present.
You riding 100 miles with no seat foam sounds like me driving 16 hours with no radio, enthusiasm overtaken by the realization of how stupid an Idea that was ;D ;D
Shame about the cover, How did you not notice it coming off?
Sweet project! How are you liking the kenda challengers? Also, did you convert the front to tubeless? It seems all the challenger front tires I find say they are not tube type
If I had known I would have checked there was a box of them at the swap meet today for $5 each....I have a CB200t Left side.....maybe that helps....(probably not)

Well got my seat pan powdered last night and got the seat dropped at the upholsterer today.
I hate paying people to do things!
But I want this thing to be nice and I've only dabbled in upholstery doing subwoofer boxes and center consoles, but nothing requiring intricate stitching so....
The guy said "wait you want leather on a Honda?" I said yes I want the best leather you've got and I want the seat perfect otherwise you'll be redoing it, at which point he laughed and I think he gets that I want it right haha.
