Just noticed you had the same long ears, but I guess you're using them for turn signals.

Did you just drill out the rivets to get the front brace out?

yep, drilled the rivets out of a beat up old fender. I still have the stock fender, but I like the look without it.

I do have the same long ears, but since I took those pictures I have cut them shorter with my trusty angle grinder.

So I got the aluminums all trued up and balanced with new rubber. While removing the old bearings, I realized how odd the sprocket looked.
Upon closer examination, I found the letters NEP followed by "Tuff One"

Google to the rescue. A company called N.E.P. manufactured Tuff One sprockets in the 70's. It is made of a nylon/plastic material and is 50% lighter than a steel sprocket. Here's to it actually holding up for me. Ha.

I have been reading up on the non-metal sprockets all evening. From what I've read, the sprocket will be just fine. They are lighter and quieter than steel, and if alligned properly will last as long or longer than the stock sprocket.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhahahaha ahh nope

I know we joked about it earlier, but that would be on my "to be replaced" list. Maybe it's my ignorance behind the technology used, but better safe than sorry.

Jussy, we love you. But.......told ya so.

Hahaha.. Yall are brutal! It's ok Justin, we're all human. Sometimes we occasionally put plastic sprockets with a metal chain. Haha!

BUMP - I dig that N.E.P. 'TUFF ONE'nylon sprocket. I mean, nothing I'd wanna use on my bigger bikes, but on a lil' CUB/PASSPORT type of deal, maybe the CB350F/CB400F would be the absolute furthest I'd wanna stretch the concept, but it's still pretty neat-o PERIOD-CORRECT kit!
