Well got the bottom case in the bead blaster. This machine is below par as far as I'm concerned. Just not very aggressive. I did better with 10 minutes in the parts washer with some steel wool than an hour in this blaster. I will post the final clean pic when it is done drying.

I think I'm gonna hit this case again. I have the blaster working better now

Chris

You going to leave the cases raw, paint or have them powdered?

Well guys it's been a while. Got side tracked by deer season here in illinois. Got the engine parts heated up and gonna hang them and paint the next 2 days. I will update with pics as I go

What type of paint will you be spraying? Are you painting everything in the pic?

Vht flameproof paint and yes I will be painting everything. Even got flameproof clear

Chris

Looks like its coming along great! Black? Silver? Are you spraying today? Im hoping to see it before I waste more time polishing mine. I thought polishing would be easier than sanding and priming. I'm not so sure that I made the right choice. I'm off to get more sandpaper. sheeesh!!! lol

I even went and bought a bench grinder and put a polishing wheel on it for cutting an polishing but decided to paint cause it was so time consuming. To polish. I think paint will look just as goo with new engine bolts. Jugs black the rest silver

Chris

If your doing primer, colour, clear coat, you need to do a spare piece and check final thickness of paint build up.
0.015" total acts as an insulator and will cause overheating

I would offer a suggestion...but I just laid it on. I can tell you this, the red wrinkle on the lower cases of my engine is thick. guys have inspected the red closely thinking its some kind new, fancy, Heat applied, vinyl graphic, and ask how I got it to form on the uneven case so well without bubbles under it. cause the edges are so thick. it really does look like heavy vinyl.

Engine enamel or FLAME PROOF?

the engine enamel is pretty fragile until cured according to the instructions . The flame proof...more so. And the flame proof requires more heat.
I think 30 minutes @ 200, 30 @ 400 and 30 @ 600.

You better buy the wife an all day spa treatment...to get her out of the house for a while. It will make a smell in the kitchen.

Well I have Got the temp of the garage up to 75. I have had the parts bakin inter a halogen light for 24 hrs.
