Cut out the seat pad shape from Kydex sheet. It cuts really easily with shears or side cutters. I lay it onto the seat pan and hit it with the heat gun. As soon as it starts to get a sheen, it'll sag into the shape of the pan. I spritzed it with a water bottle to cool quickly.
In hindsight, I probably should have drilled my rivet holes while it was flat.
Nothing fancy, just a set of carbs and the stock bread box. The major dysfunctions during shakedown ended up being a broken needle in the #3 hole and a sticky enricher rod. Back and forth with carb cleaner and WD-40 with lots of throttle action smoothed everything out with the enricher. Nothing sticks, and everything snaps back as it should. A needle from a spare set of carbs did the rest.
Maybe I'll figure out how to dress up the air box. Maybe a new one.
What are the numbers? Main Pilot Needle Turns etc... I cant get the Keyholes to work and as bad as it is I worked hard to get those clean and just like the LOOK :-[

I'll keep you posted as I figure this out, too. No wiring yet, so nothing is fired up. I adjusted the slides by visual measurement in hopes I have a baseline to begin. I set them all at the same level. I'm stock everywhere on the jets (105), nothing is changed. I have a feeling I'll end up going up to 110 or 115. D432 on the needle. Pilot is also stock. I just sprayed it through until I had a nice stream. I've been told a bunch, and I've read as much, that the pilot and enricher circuit are notorious issues on these carbs to those who don't know better. I hope I'm good. The 77's pilots are press fit, unlike the rest of the years.
Cool beans... Press fit pilots I have (hard to get new) and don't have any trouble changing, I went bigger when I should of went smaller I guess... only would idle with 1/2 turn out.
The other thing I have going on is a redo on the exhaust. I pulled the 750f exhaust baffle off and put on a modified Vance&Hines. I hope the V&H balances the carb situation. It should be more restrictive than the 750f, especially since the PO of that baffle opened it up more than stock.

Excellent. It's nice having an extra set of parts handy to harvest from. The previous owner I bought my latest project from included an extra motor with carbs. Came in handy while cleaning the carbs and finding a pilot screw with no spring.
