Received the new steering bearings today... and got to work: Pics to follow.
Froze then hammered in the races (with a bearing driver).
Took the stem into my buddy's work (Suzuki) and pressed in the bearing...
Now I'm back to having a front end, with fresh new bearings.
So, now it's safe to ride (albeit not assembled). Time to get everything buttoned up...

I didn't really have a choice! I think the bike has a lot of km's, everything was well-worn.
Considering this fork brace (I previously made it for the SECA but the fender wasn't quite right).
Modified a plastic rear fender that came with the bike to work as an inner fender for my new seat:
Should be completely hidden (from the side) when the bike is complete.
Also threw on the chain guards...
Not exciting, I know... but I like pics.
Fixed and installed the ignition. My key is so warn it won't turn the tumblers, so I had to remove a pin to get it to work.
Back in the stock location.
Anyone know where I can get this type of 2-stroke slip-on pipe?
Front wiring harness and all switches checked and working fine! ...and actually all fit back into the tiny headlight.
New headlight is NOS.
Rear brake switch is cracked, tho... Sourcing one now.
Finally got the bike out for a run in the field, and it's a beast.
Still have to put on the pretty pieces and paint it but here she is in a rideable state.

Well my "new" throttle cable snapped, so I have a new one ordered with a return cable this time... No more riding for a bit.
Rigged up a throttle cable by combining the 2 broken split cable sets.
So glad my next door neighbor is also my test track...
New-New Throttle cable arrived,
So much better than the old ones I'd been using... and still NOS (as is the theme with 90% of this bike).
Also installed the stainless steel exhaust shield and left side panel.
I like the square panels, match the square mirrors and square-ish tank.
Bent side cover to clearance the frame.
Wired up the tail light and threw on the license plate.
The license plate reads Motorcycle Dirt Tracker 77... Not on purpose, but sweet.
Fender installed, new clutch perch, second mirror installed:
Few crashes later and some parts removed... bike crashes well.
Partially due to the tall grass!
LMAO, hopefully nothing too bad or expensive. Quite a track you have there!
Haha. Naw one good high side but the rest was sliding in the grass.
