Thanks, but I don't know how honored I would be. This is my first build after all. I'll name it when a name comes to me ;)

Ok, speedo/tach came today. It's a nice unit and the speedometer is accurate as hell. I'm not nuts about where it's mounted, but someday when I have more time I can come up with something a little more creative. So heres the pics...

I should be able to get it inspected now ;D
Next I am working on the fork brace in AutoCAD. Pics to come!

You know it , I know it, we all know but I'm going to say it.
That speedo looks like shit up there. damn. At least its only temporary because it's shape is pretty cool and would, IMO, tie in with your gauges if placed right.
Are you going to do a new bracket to house it?

I can't believe that this is your first build, it is such a great looking bike.
Sry about the honesty juice flowing. I critique because so far your quality is outstanding and this looks like a pigs ear perched there.

I say get it inspected and ride the piss out of it. If you want to change anything about the speedo, wait until it rains for a week straight.

Cause you know we get plenty of that in PA!

My thoughts exactly! I hate how the thing looks there, but I have an Idea that will tie it in. I juts need a day where I can do some fab work. I have to say though, the functionality of the whole thing is awesome!

Did you mount them to the stock wheels? How well do the ride/handle? Oh and if it hasn't been said enough, your bike looks killer!!
Thanks! Stock wheels. I can't really give you an accurate road review as I haven't left my neighborhood yet. From what I can tell so far, they are hard tires, but the tread pattern will probably make up for that in the twisties (we'll find out I guess). I was really after the look more than anything, so performance was secondary to me. I'll let you know more after I've given a more thorough road test.

In other news, I have reworked the speedo mount and right now I am waiting for clearcoat to dry on the new shroud I made. Pics to come ;D

YES. That's what I'm talking about. That looks so good and man you are quick.

If I sounded harsh in my previous post it's only because I saw all of the great work you've done on the bike and it seemed a shame just to tack that speedo on there. Come on over to my build and give me shit at anything you think I could do better. ;D

Classy as hell. Looks great. Great rolling business card for your paint company.

Cheers

I think you should put bike up for bike of the month to see what kinda support you'll get...Very Nice!

PS I'd like to see some details on your indicator lights and speedo wiring/installation.

Thanks! You have to be nominated by someone else for BOTM, I highly doubt this is worthy of running with some of the other bikes I've seen for BOTM. The wiring was fairly simple. the only indicator that wasn't a direct plug-in was the turn signal indicator. I had to add two relays (one for each signal) going into the one indicator light (best way I could think of to keep the current from back feeding into the other turn signal). the speedo was very straightforward. Actually, If you go to their website, http://www.trailtech.net/instructions.html you can find all the install procedures there. I didn't really document the wiring in process as I was going (maybe I should have). Hope this helps :)

Have you gotten any riding in yet on those tires? I would love to hear your thoughts on how they handle.

Not really, I removed the carbs for some new jets which should be arriving today ;D I plan on getting it out this weekend a bit though.

Got my new jets in and after about 5 different jet/needle variations, I found a winner. 108 mains, 42 slow, and needle down two notches from stock. took it out for a 20 mile run and WOW! what a difference! My inspection is on Wednesday so after that...DONE!!!! well, except for the fork brace (still working on that one).

Oh yeah, Mothgils, tires rode surprisingly well. Not the best in braking situations, but overall good ride and well worth the price...so far ;D
