hope I'm responding right, wasn't sure how to answer.

Anyway its a mixed bag, a little bit brat with a lot of Cafe' and hold the sugar. Right now I'm struggling to find the right rims and/or wheels. I want to stay with spokes but as you know the 77-78 have 17" rims. I want an 18" but wider rim for the tires I plan to install. Even that's on hold because none of the 4.00x19 tire will be available until late April? go figure. I might use the stock wheel up front but would like a wider one. I will be putting the add on’s on line as the project progresses.

For the fella asking what I was building in 1974, the Red Cafe' avatar is one. A fella had two new CB350s with low mileage under a K if I remember right. Well he had placed them in a moving van to haul them to Santa Cruz (where I was) in doing so he laid shipping blankets over the bikes them strapped them down. Well unfortunately he hadn't the ware with all to disconnect the batteries. He had run a strap over a cigarette lighter attached to his handle bars. Well that thing got hot smoldered for ages the set the blanket on fire then the bike. Most plastic was melted but the bones were good so I got a deal on it. I took everything apart, bored it out to 408cc I think or something close to that. Most of the metals appearance was shot so I panted the engine Black, cut off the mufflers painted pipes white except the ends I left chrome and put baffles in them I painted the wheels and hubs White, chromed the spokes and did the nipples in brass. Frame, chain guard, headlight case, front fender, triple trees and misc. also white. Sent off for a rear set to Yosimura in Japan, they were nearly none existent in the US. Then a buddy of mine Tracy "Tracy and Friends, ( Hey, it was the 70's ) Fiberglass Works on the North side of Santa Cruz, near the Hershey Plant and Twin Bridges State Park. He was big time into all sorts of motorcycle parts, Fairings, fuel tanks and quite well known for his integrated bodies. That's one on the 350, red metal flake and pin striping, in the California Sun it was dazzling. Well he needed a CB750 to put parts on for photo shoots in Natl. motorcycle mags so I volunteered mine. In returned he had the guys color match my CB750's Vetter, side covers, a helmet tote and one of his oversized fuel tanks, he also included the 350's body too be followed by a matching fairing’. Due to a number of things that went South the business closed including my fairing. Ahhhh they were great times. I'll chuck in some photos of that as well. I just got back from a Crab Feed and I'm stuffed. Off to get some Zzzzz

Nice, I plan on doing a mild cafe job/restoration. Lowered bars, cafe style seat, 4-1 exhaust, mini lights and gauges. I'm keeping with the stock wheels but I definitely need new tires, it sat in a storage unit for close to a decade. If I'm reading the codes right on the tires they were manufactured in '98 and are showing a little dry rot.

Sounds like your on your way. Re: the tires, checking very bad sign. If cycle tires are like autos. There may be a code on the tire. Find what you got and Google it, might be able to get its age. either way sounds like you need replacements. Mine are used in pretty good shape as I'm changing out the look. Might sell them but might end up going with the wheels it depends on how it all shakes out but I will definitely have a garage sale. That's my big headache at the moment wheels and tires, more to come. below the next shots of disassembly.

Thats the dirty one wait til you see the build! Nice avitar that color appears to be the sunburst color my first CB750 had back in 73-74. I think it was the best of a lot of good colors, later theY seemed to dumb down some of the colors.

Time to pull the engine. Dont know what some people whine about pulling a CB750 engine. I did it by myself with a floor jack and when it came up short of the table top I just lifted (grunt) it up? Then I remembered I had an engine lift out in storage, crap. Back hurt for days. Oh well, SHIT HAPPENS!

Good training is always essential. May 19th 1972, in the class photo I'm fourth from the left back row, arms crossed wearing the service manager shirt. I spent a week in Racine Wisconsin, good thing about it one evening we bumped into a "Chicago Concert" Got some scalped some last minute tickets at a giveaway price and they were great seats. I digress. There's the chopper that was my only ride after the service, rode it the better part of the winter of 71. Until one night it was so cold with temperatures dropping the the oil congealed and the engine seized up.

Yaddah Yaddah...
Thats all good, but when it comes to a Honda 750 do you have any idea what you are doing!?!
LOL sometimes I slay myself!
Welcome dude. I am excited to see where this project is gonna go. I like your goal description.
My cb360 could be described as a little brat + some cafe + a whole lot of "F"ed up ideas = WTF!
So keep the posts coming.

Next, just bought a front Lester mag on flea bay. But lost the rear one in a separate auction. Now I'm short a 18" Lester CB750 six spoke wheel. Something will show up. Hey any of you fellas have one to sell? The engine is out, dissembled to case. before/after shot. The head, jugs and side covers are off to Cycle X, might have them back by end of week, holding breath.

Just how big is this light or how small is that table? That thing looks like it's 14" across. I dare you to put it on the bike :)

The lens is about 9.5" dia. Ya its bigger than I thought it would be but, shit its crazy man! Its a 1912 Caddy 101 years old and still works. The reflectors were actually silver plated for the best reflectivity. 35 candle power bulb. I have one coming to match the BA15D socket, a 55w halogen!.

Slowly but surely, you know Shirly right?
