When I need something sand blasted I just go to the local monument / tomb stone place and they shoot it for around $20. They even use the same rubber stuff that is used to outline the tomb stones to protect areas I don't want basted. They also can vary the intensity of the sand, from light to heavy, which reduces pitting. Comes out nice. Thats the only reason I don't have my own blasting setup. Hard to justify when you have a resource like that. Plus I think they like the change of pace from creating head stones all day. For small parts I have a jewelers media blaster which works well, but is only good for levers, emblems and other small items around 6" in length.
