1980 gs750 subframe questions.

So i was given this 80 gs750 16v. Its quick but as you can see in the picture the sub frame is butchered. I guess he hard tailed it then decided that he didn't like that and then squeezed shocks back in.

I thought about keeping it bobbered since that is the simplest solution. But this bike is to fast to do that. It needs real suspension.

So im starting from scratch. I am on a tight budget but i do have a machines hop and various materials at my disposal.

My questions are regarding geometry. Stuff like, what happens if i angle the shocks forward, or change the swing arm angle. Btw if anybody knows the factory specs for these things it would be helpful.

Im going for a clean cafe look and sportier riding position.

Any ideas and suggestions are welcome

Looks like the original shock mounts are still there, just reconnect and redo the nonessential section of the rear seat frame area to your likings. 13.25" or so was the stock shock length. Eye to clevis centers.

Edit: oh maybe it looks like they chopped the back half off & shortened the bottom & rewelded it at a lower angle... titled frames can be had for $175-200, or you could get creative with the rear end and a welder
