With the frame squared away on the Yamaha xs360 Beerson with with some beefy rubber which really filled out the overall look of the bike

The xs 360 tank was in pretty good shape just needed a little leveling and some primer then he sprayed on a factory Nissan color. I forget the name

Beerson is meticulous and he fabbed up these revival cycle tail lights in his frame rails. They're super bright and basically invisible when the bike is off

Previous owner on the xs360 welded the swingarm bolt in. No idea why someone might want to do this but that's the hand we were delt.

So.. Cut and grind and hammer

The cb160 has such a nice tank shape we thought we'd go with a bare metal brushed kinda look on it. Not trying to hide the 50 years worth of dings and character. First the paints gotta come off

I guess first I should say that we really wanted the DCC seat to sit up flush against the tank but the stock frame mounts and tank mounts make that hard. So surprise we cut it up. It was a trick to get this right and left us with allot of fab to make up for the inch or so we were after

Made a patch piece bent it to try and follow the tank shape and welded it up. This has tank was paper thin. I've never welded on anything close to this thin. It was like making a root pass on the entire thing. But after some trial and error it's done now and it seals.

Also ran some 5/32 up the middle so there would be some meat to shape so we could keep the backbone running all the way down to the seat. Small touch but one that Jarod really wanted

I work in a full fabrication facility so I've got access to some pretty stellar welding machines and equipment. Maybe you can't tell by the background of those last pics

Anywho allot of sanding and shaping we ended up with a pretty ok finished product

Canyoncarver that's exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for. We are leaving from Abilene tx and we plan on crossing over in Clovis the debate has been weather to head towards Albuquerque or go further south. But it seems like you are saying south is the way to go. Are there any special rules for camping on the reservations? Is that what is meant when you say reserve?
Do you think there's any chance of trouble or anyplace we may want to stay away from?
Reserve, NM is a little town with some cool camp sites around the area. As for trouble, if you hear somebody playing a banjo at night near your campsite, just run.

Had the cb750 frame tacked together together and ready for weld out. More inches than you think. Or I thought at least

Over a few beers we decided we may not want to carry backpacks for two thousand miles so we all sourced old luggage racks then chopped em to make them as neat and tidy and hug the motorcycles snugly. I think they came out good. I originally thought that they'd be ugly and something I'd trash after the trip but they came out good and the functionality is great

Beersons rack is something totally different. Cause he has to be a cool kid he cut up sections of pipe and is shaping his rack that way with pie cut bends and tons of welding. He puts in the work and it always pays. We hate him

Oh I'd be remiss if I talked about Beerson cutting up pipe and didn't show his treadmill powered vintage craftsman band saw.

Beerson keeps a clean garage with a place for everything and good lighting. It's a pleasure to wrench in there

We also play at painting helmets. You can see the cinema toast lid we did for a film company Bryson and Danny started. They film all the Texas drift events. He'll prob chime in and tell me what exactly it is they film. But they're edits are serious business

Man. I am envious. This looks like way too much fun! I need to get some guys together and do something like this. Building for a big ride with a tight timeline sounds like my kinda torture.

Said helmet before sanding the clear
