Hey guys, I figured I'd start a build thread and ask a couple questions. I'm working on a cb450 basket case I got for free, so far I mated the front and rear end from a ex250 to what's left of the cb450 frame. Made new neck cups with taper bearings and narrowed the swingarm to fit the frame then bushed it to fit the 450 swingarm shaft. Also chucked the rear hub up and faced some off to move the rear sprocket inboard to line up up with drive sprocket.
So here's where it goes downhill. Started on the motor tonight. Apparently my pistons are 4th oversized (71mm) and the jugs are like 14th over (73.5mm) !!! With some surface rust. I was hoping to get some opinions on which direction to take the motor.
I can try and get these jugs resleeved, although I haven't found much about that or cost for it. Then find a set of stock pistons and rings.
Try and find a set of jugs that are bored 1mm over, or that I can bore to 1mm over and just get rings.
Or bore this to 74mm and build something like the Henning stuff, as soon as I can get my lottery ticket turned in.
