i did the compartment for the transition. originally it was going to just be a fiberglass piece so the transition would be smooth, then i realized the possibility of a compartment. i forgot to include it in the photoshop though
also i didn't finish lacing the spokes in photoshop. i got lazy hahaha
the motor is just sandblasted right now. i wanted to leave everyone hanging on the color hahaha
i like the one you made, i told you that already silly. you don't need to hurry up, i've still got to make the compartment and then get the bike painted. then paint the rims and possibly the motor. you have plenty of time
Ok, thanks. Here are a few. I love the headlight. What is it off of or is it factory? On the chrome bits are you going to leave them chrome? If so, I think that will be cool. Are you planning on fork boots? I think those would be cool too.
A couple of points. Make sure to get a good measurement under the tail for the battery. however, I don't think you will have any problems but you may have to drop it slightly between the seat rails to get it to fit.
This is just a thought. You may consider a shorter exhaust mount on the rear. If chris hasn't fabed ithe exhaust yet he could move the mount tab down a little so that you can run a shorter mount strap to the frame. You'd have to weld or fab a bolt on tab on the frame. But ai'm thinking if it were a little closer to the rear set it may blend in a little more. Of course you wouldn't want it to interfere with the brake so it would take some fenaggling ;D
Really nice job so far Go. I'm not saying that because you are a girl. I'm saying that because I'm seeing a very cool build done by a bike builder!
Her exhaust, like all my exhaust bolt to a motor mount...or so I think. I have the thing made already, I just need to do a bit more work on the reverse cone megaphone. I'll a little dissatisfied with the results--but I'm a stickler for this that kind of detail. I'm leaving it up to Go!, but she has the option of mounting the reverse cone megaphone off the damper mount or under the motor mount.
She has a very specific design concept in her head (and on the screen), so it's a struggle to meet her expectations. She easily going to have one of the coolest bikes on this forum. Like your bike, I'm flattered to be part of it.
Sounds like it is already taken care of. i should have known. ;D Anyway, I couldn't agree more about her build. It is impressive to say the least. She has a great eye and innate ability to build it and see it through.
Thanks for the props. I'm very please you could help me out as well. Everything worked out great! You did fantastic work. Speaking of which, I think you really need to start stretching SAs, but that is for another forum.
Hey go...., You go girl! You really do have a gift!
the headlight is stock. i'm still unsure of the chrome bits, i don't know if it will clash with the black bits. i don't want to have too many colors, the bike is already going to be white and green. i think i'm going to wait til the bike is painted to make other color choices.
i made the seat specifically to fit the battery i'm using, it may need to sit just below the frame rails, but most of it will fit under to bum.
chris has been wonderful to work with. i had a very specific drawing of what i wanted, admittedly with no idea what makes a good exhaust. judging by the photos, i'm very happy with how mine came out.
i finished fiberglassing the seat the other day, here's a progress photo
i've been working 50+ hours a week lately, so not much time to work on the bike.
jeremy and i are going to new orleans this weekend, it'll be a nice break
Heck yes Go! That means your clothes stink as much as mine, and your hands are sticky too! At least you don't have a beard to get resin stuck in! Can't wait to see the finished seat....and you guys should swing through Barber's this weekend. It'd be good to see you kids.
my clothes definitely smell. fortunately, i've retained my natural womanly vanilla-like scent through it all
my arms are covered in resin. i guess i get really into the mixing.
we'll be flying into new orleans friday night, going to the gators vs lsu game saturday, and spending some time in new orleans sunday before flying home. i wish we could have taken a nice long vacation this year and gone to a few of my favorite southern states, perhaps next year.
And I hear you about getting into mixing....there's just something fun about splattering that crap everywhere. I am still trying to wear the dried resin off of the bottom of my favorite pair of All Stars.. :
sorry for the lack of pictures.. i thought i was going to start on the next thing, but ended up doing two more layers of fiberglass on the seat. NOW it's ready to be pulled out of the mold, and i can start shaping the foam for the compartment.
new orleans was great. i forgot that it would be cold here when we got back. time to get in the shop again!
