Almost positive it was at this site:

I couldn't find the ones I got, but they have some really cool finned ones for not to much.

Got my clip ons in the mail yesterday and hooked them up last night. Digging it.

DJ, is your tank done? It looks pretty good but how about a pic of just it?

Haha, I wondered if someone was going to comment on it being on the floor in the background. Yeah it's done. The checkerboard vinyl is just laying on it. I wanted to see if I really like it. I think I do. Thought's?

Re: 71 CL350 Cafe Time for the build thread!

Far be it for me to disappoint. Here you go. The vinyl is just laying on there to see how it looks. Let me know what you think. I know the black and white checkered racing stripes are a bit played out, but I've been gay for that shit since I was a kid. Even had some on my 73 Yamaha enduro when I was 11.

Personally - I think something there would help break up the "darkness" of the tank. I wouldn't use the checker pattern, maybe just a white or silver stripe.

But I say it's your tank (looks great BTW), do what you wanna do!

Re: 71 CL350 Cafe Time for the build thread!

looks AMAZING!

thanks for the link... those pieces look great as well and will probably fit my build just a wee bit better. ;D

Re: 71 CL350 Cafe Time for the build thread!

Man, I think it looks good! I like R's idea of the stripe but I, like you, am a sucker for the cliche of checkers. I like it offset and think you should comtinue that on the seat bump. I also like the flat black, go with a satin clear over that to give a little more sheen and that thing will look really good.

nice ;)

I like the offset checks as well, but wondering if a smaller pattern might not be so in-your-face?

Either way, I think it looks great.

I like it! but I know what you mean about checkerboard being played to death.
With it being off center, the first thing I thought of were "invasion stripes" from WWII aircraft... maybe you would like that.

Ya know DJ, I think perhaps I'd wait on lowering those forks until the bike's completely back together and on it's own tires. Then you can get a much better idea where your geometry is off.
Looks like it's coming together though!

Actually I did a ton of reading on motorcycle geometry and got it pretty much figured out. I'm back up into the safe zone with the travel (I left 6in to be safe). With the 110/90 - 18 front, the stock rake, and these forks my trail is at 5.5in. I'll accept that with the larger tires and all. It seems pretty level too. Got a fork brace and dampner on the way as well. The real test will be how she handles. I hope to be finding that out soon.

Re: 71 CL350 Cafe Time for the build thread!

Whoops, I take that back. I did it wrong. I measured from the offset not the stem. So it'll be more like 4in. I thought 5.5 sounded a little high.
