the whole bike is coming apart and going to powder, the chromers, and paint.
the paint on the frame just didn't stick so i figured I've come this far and i might as well finish this thing off properly.
so the tank and seat are getting professionally sprayed in a two color.
the frame, swinger, and rear sets are going to powder.
the pipes and a couple odds and ends are going to the chromer.
once that's all done it'll be april and ride time.
hopefully it'll be done before that. but here in michigan it'll be a cold ride in april alone.
ok, so I'm finally getting around to ordering the last few things I need for this thing. and although I've read the sticky on carb jetting 1,000,000 times I still want some advice to what new jets i should pick up and what sizes. you can see my bikes has pods and a custom 2 into 1 exhaust. other than that the engine is pretty much stock. what do you think?
I would start at stock jetting, and go from there. I am running open pipes (until I either make some pipes similar to yours, or find a good aftermarket 2-1) and velocity stacks with stock jetting and my plugs don't read lean.
Yea these stock 350 carbs arent as fickle as some people claim. I ran open 2-1 pipes with velocity stacks with 105 mains and 70 intermediates and ran great. The biggest thing I've found on these carbs is the float height. I set mine at 25mm. Plus or minus a mm or two and it ran like shit, check yours.
thanks man! also thought I should say my acewell gauge and full spectrum lithium ferrous battery both worked great right out of the box.
the battery hasn't refused to start the bike yet and hasn't been charged for a couple days so i think i'll be happy.
so i've got a functioning heat shield and a front brake now so I figured i could take my bike out for a cruise
and see how it's everything is working at speed. well turns out everything is working great and the bike
seems to cruise good around 70mph with power to spare so with the wind at my back I'm looking forward
to doing the ton on this thing
Nice! I am running a similar exhaust setup and I need to fab up a heat shield too. I might also have to figure some way to push my shift side rear set out since the exhaust is like right on my leg.
so i've got a small pinhole leak in my tank and I'm looking to seal it.
has anyone used any tank sealers with success?
or should i just throw a weld or something else on there?
