74 CB200 Late to the party!!

Hello long time no see........
Well finally getting back to my cb200 build. I sourced a cb175 motor awhile back that seems to be good. Nedd to guy a compression tester.

I need to decide which motor to put in the bike and what one to build. I will run compression test on both and se how it looks

Any one know who won the F1 race?

So I'm building up the motor w 20mm Cb 175 carbs.
Question is what is the lowest compression that would be acceptable?

My OCD kicked in during my motor rebuild. I got distracted by my speedo and tach sitting tall so I lowered them. I will make a final determination on how far later.

Removing the pressed in bolts. i didnt want nuts showing on top of the triple tree

Temp allen head bolt for now

I hope I did this right. I punched out the oil passage and drilled a new oil passage on the opposite side this should make sure the cam gets plenty of oil.

I wonder the best way to move this decal to the new build. I think just having a new one printed with this

CB200 marching on thru the night

now to finish assembly of motor.
Just want to say thanx to DTT for all the great info. i would by lost with out it.

Good idea enlarging that passage. I had CB200 cam melt down after a build. That passage got partially blocked.

Ya I read about the cam issue and searched DTT 4 a fix. I think that's all I'm going to do on this round of motor building, I got the bike in a box good thing it's all there. I want to see it run before I
Make any mods. The guy was moving out of his roommate place so I got it 4 a good price, title too!

You didn't drill that on partially built motor without cleaning out every last piece of swarf did you? Please tell me it was flushed out and blown out and inspected before the motor went back together.

What did you do to modify the cam tower (end cap) and cap to allow for oil feed from both ends?

ya i realized what i was doing and stopped to clean it up my mess i sucked up all there was. not much as i didnt finish drilling. I used my shop vac after it suck up the slivers after that.
I am thinking about a 175 head for oiling duties. But I may be mistaken.

Thanx

Chris K
