Just to let you know, if you look at me square again, I will take you out back and introduce you to the business side of my belt (er, uh, chain).

I love this thing.

Re: poor man's 74 cb350f cafe (update: leather seat cover)

No shit, don't "fix-up" this bike. I love it just the way it is.
It just screams "I was a sport bike while your designer was messin his diapers"

Re: poor man's 74 cb350f cafe (update: leather seat cover)

This thing looks cool... definately has a "let's get the fuck out of here" thing going on. Almost like when an hot girl has to go somewhere last minute... she is looks kinda beat up but still hot.

bahaha thats exactly right. I Don't have the time, the money, and I dont like shiny paint and chrome and polished aluminum enough to do some kind of ground up restore blah blah blah. This bike was built with found/homemade parts.. notice the rediculous stupid headlight bracket (even when we're all fully aware I could buy purty chrome brackets for 11 bucks on ebay).

Thanks guys I'm glad some people out there get my vision/lack thereof.

I am currently undertaking the task of fitting her with dixie (dukes of hazzard) air horns

Re: poor man's 74 cb350f cafe (update: leather seat cover)

Absolutely wicked! Everything works on this bike. Very nice work man. I am working on a '74 350f as well with the same situation. No budget, but ideas-a-plenty.

Re: poor man's 74 cb350f cafe (update: leather seat cover)

I love the phrase on the back of the helmet!

Re: poor man's 74 cb350f cafe (update: leather seat cover)

Love the seat!! Less = more.

Love the photo's and the bike too. Great job!

Re: poor man's 74 cb350f cafe (update: leather seat cover)

Very clean build- inspirational for all the 350f owners. Not to mention killer badass look.

where did you get the yellow headlight ?

its just the stock 7" headlight and i painted the lense yellow with some generic translucent yellow craft paint

Re: poor man's 74 cb350f cafe (update: leather seat cover)

Nicely done. It looks like it gets ridden a lot and not stored in your lounge room as a conversation piece. Awesome work. Love the bit on the helmet too.

Re: poor man's 74 cb350f cafe (update: leather seat cover)

Things look a bit different these days, its obviously not finished, but its getting close. Props to blackmotorcovenant, I was inspired by his build and other like it. I got tired of cafe's its all I see these days so I went toward the bratstyle look.

whats changed: everything
-19" drum brake cl360 front wheel
-lowbrow customs "axed" tank
-11.5" shocks
-4" tractor headlight in which I mounted nuetral/oil press. lights and a push/pull headlight switch
-mt90 double whitewall rear tire, stock hub with 16x3.5 motoguzzi rim (yet to be laced)
-new chrome generic harley coils, and cloth covered plug wires (not pictured)

stuff i built for it
-handlebars
-foot clutch
-jockey shift
-seat pan (not done yet)
-license plate bracket
-battery/electrics box (looks like an oil tank) (not pictured)
-drew a new super simple wiring diagram and made a new wiring harness (no turn sigs, no starter solenoid, no high beam, no kill switch, moved ignition under the seat, etc)

I am a student, and all the modifications I made were done outside on my front stoop after buying a crappy harbor freight welder on a whim. (i'd never welded anything before)

how you like it so far?

Re: poor man's 74 cb350f update: bratstyle build

Wow quite the transition. I loved it as a cafe, and still love it as a brat. The shifter set up is awesome.

I am sure I am not the only person who will ask... but what did you or are you going to do with that cafe seat you made?

i've still got it, it probably won't fit too well unless you have a 350f, since i made it specificaally for that frame... but i guess it could concievably fit
