74 CB360T Rookie Build

Re: 74 CB360T Rookie Build

Update, got the Sparck Moto reg/rect all wired up. Mine came pre wired so it was fairly easy plug and play. Installed new front brake pressure switch easy peezy. Cut throttle pull cable to proper length, soldered barrels and installed. Deleted push cable (i know how to shut my bike off if spring gives out), repainted and cut the front fender, now more eye pleasing than the straight cut haha(4in angle grinder... doesnt look half bad imho) as well as repainted the rear flirt fender. Went with satin black instead of flat this time. Seems to match the frame pretty well and doesnt have that grayish look to it without being too shiny. Also redid my license plate bracket with a thicker aluminum L bar. My other one cracked, bent and almost flew off. Live and learn haha anyways heres some pics as it rides now... btw i think the X is cool, i know the purpose of taping the light, its got a cool retro look, i dont ride at night and the led bulb i fitted will not melt the tape i like it so until i get the headlight i want, it stays. Thanks to Trek97 for all the late night and early morning messaging help!!! And a well deserved BOTM for ya! I believe 99% of your votes came from members you've helped, influenced, or inspired like me.

If anyone knows of a cl360 right side header, im in desperate need. Ive looked and called everywhere. I already have a left side. I only need the right side header to build the exhaust i have planned.

Next step until i can source a header is the seat... still thinking direct bolt on flat tracker style but also have a c/f cafe hump seat collecting dust. Wish i could have it both ways for 2 up riding.

Thnaks dude and youre welcome for the help.

I imagine youve seen this dream of stupidity...Id write the guy and make some sort of "crazy" offer. Bring him back to earth.

Re: 74 CB360T Rookie Build

What do you think of the front fender? I like how the back end is straight cut but also think it'd look good cut ro match the front part. I'm just not sure I'd be able to duplicate it. I feel like it's a reverse mullet, party in the front, all business in the back haha But idk i kinda like the contrast.

Looks good bro. It might look good to match them. and if you got it a close match, Im sure that it would be close enough. Nobody would notice a minor difference but you. 8)

You gonna install signals and brake light?

its just insanity what they are asking for those pipes.

Re: 74 CB360T Rookie Build

Thanks!
The small but very bright led brake light is tucked between the seat and hoop. Ill probably add one on each side of it for signals. Not sure yet though. It depends on which seat I go with.

Yeah I get it, they're supposedly rare but $370 is over a third what i paid for the bike haha Id probably pay triple what the left side cost but 250 for the right only is about 10x what my left cost.

I was sure you had a brake light, but couldnt see it in the pics...thought maybe it got deleted.

Just be patient a pipe will come up sometime.

Whatever you do...no matter how desperate you get, even as a last resort, smashing mufflers to fit rearsets is NOT an option. LOL.

Buy a mandrel bend kit & mig welder take a class and learn to weld it up. It will take $ and time...but, you will walk away w a tool and a skill. I can stick weld thicker stuff pretty nice. But w my eyes I just cant see good enough to wire weld. pisses me off.

I would re-fit the stay, gives speed cable somewhere to live without rubbing on tyre

Seat in a couple weeks, found tuffside.com has some very nice ready to go seats but still cant decide if i want to with the hump or flat brat style argh.

Cool! I've got some shots with my bike of some turbines as well. They sprout like weeds on the hills around here.

Yeah littered throughout corn/bean fields here. Hard to guage how massive they are untill you see just part of one blade on a wide load dual trailer semi going down the highway. Pretty awesome.

I had an opportunity to go work for the company here that maintains them. Turned them down because the amount of time those guys spend on the road is ridiculous. I like spending time with my family not, here for a day gone for 2 weeks here for a few days gone for a few weeks.

I have enough fun climbing the towers I have now. ;D

Haha thats cool yeah i had a buddy who was working for one company installing them in Texas. He said the pay was very good but its insane hours.

Update *** got some ebay and dcc goodies from my mistress aka the mail lady.
48led halo + h4 7" headlight
Was built for Harley 7" bezel. 360 bezel is just shy of that and also has many tabs in the way of installation. Cut unwanted/unneeded tabs off, still wouldnt squeeze in. So, i cut the bezel at 6 o'clock(bottom), stretched a lil, and boom, not so perfect fit haha. Tabs to mount bezel to bucket were kept and utilized. I was very surprised the 2 bolt holes lined up after cutting/stretching to get the new lamp in. Bucket was too shallow so I cut the back out so the new lamps rubber gasket fits tightly in the new hole in the bucket. All i wanted the headlight for was the 48led halo for dawn/dusk riding since I don't ride at night. Its a death wish on no light county roads with all the critters and drunkerds. So I've only hooked up the halo to my battery running a switch from a apace heater I tore apart, BONUS, it slid perfectly into the old bar holes in the TTT.
Anyways, a lil electrical tape hides the bottom cut and it looks dam good. Getting lots of weird looks and thumbs up from those in the know.

Miss mail womans 2nd visit was to give me this, the rear hoop led running/brake/signal light. Simple install and wiring. Ran running light to hidden switch under seat (reminds me of hot rodders with shaved doors and hidden solenoids).
Signals just both come on at the same time, no flash. I know ive seen people using led signal correctors and i tried the pilot brand ones i had with no luck. Matt ( SparckMoto) do u make these? Cant remember who was selling them, maybe crazypj ?
Anyways, I'm happy with the product, bright enough running light and very bright brake/sig lights. And I've got no probs using my arm sigs as usual until i can fix.
Pics...
