Re: '75 CB550K Gulf - emulators: one oxidized
Not much going on here, but if I don't post this photo, I'll forget about it.
As I said earlier, the front fender will be mounted to the fork brace only. To keep it from flopping around (curved fender, flat brace), I'm custom fitting it to the brace, which involves piling on a bunch of body filler and pressing the brace into it. Well, there's a little more than that, but you get the gist. A little sanding and smoothing and it should be ready to make a female really soon.
The belly pan plug is 99% done. I'm just chasing pinholes now, and a female will be made from it in a few days I hope.
The Race Tech springs also came in, and were installed with 1" or preload. Once the bike's a roller again, I can dial that down if needed to get the right sag.
I also swapped my chromed steel clipons for some billet ones with aluminum bars.
A gsxr MC is on it's way, as the MC I have won't work with the new clipons...plus it ought to help with the dual discs.
Tygon fuel line also showed up. I'm done with the nasty clear fuel line that hardens after a couple months.
