I don't want to say how many hours I have in polishing these freaking things but after completing them I'm glad I did it. Now I hope they look good with the paint and all.
He didn't do himself any favors by blasting them first; the factory finish is damn near polished already! They may have been buggered up already though. Hard to tell from the pics.

They were pretty rough when I snagged them and I didn't really want to blast them but couldn't get the corrosion off them the other ways I had tried, either way I am happy.
As for powder coating...the non polished portions (other than the hub where the rotors mount) will be black. I haven't fully decided on powder coating them yet but there is a possibility if the place I found will be able to cut a decent price on the frame and the wheels.
Well now this is just sad, I have the whole "its been too damn long since you last worked on your bike" notification while writing this. It's been a sad last few months for sure.
Since I got my new job I have been working 60-80 hours a week and unfortunately the bike got the back burner. Although, I was able to get some work done on it on saturday and hopefully will be able to keep a steady pace on it here moving forward. Main things I need to finish right now is the electronics pan under the seat, decide on relocating the ignition and mounts for the GSXR rearsets I am putting on.
I cut the seat rails to the length I wanted and capped them I think it flows pretty well with the seat. Then started mocking up the rearset mounts (no pictures on that yet but more to come).
