Airhead Cafe - R80RC

Tim, stunning bike- man those are getting hard to find. Seeing yours reinforces my choice of black w/ white stripe ;) Looks comfortable yet ready for action.

Thanks- still have lots of little things to do. Hooked the battery up last night and checked the new headlight install- all is well which is good news- there is a circuit panel inside the headlamp that has about 25 leads hooked up to it- very tight space to work with. Got the petcocks back on and put some fuel in it, should be ready to start. I think I need a pretty hefty battery with some serious cranking amps for this thing . . .

Need to decide if I am going with rearsets and there is a guy here who sells a pretty cool alloy upper triple . . . hmm.

Nice Build! Simple and classy. Just mooching through looking for inspiration for my K build.

yeah buckeye from your posting history i am thinking you can start charging for tours of your garage soon.

;D Thanks for the compliment . . . it is an addiction that I will soon need to seek help for.

Changed out the shocks for the originals and added a couple decals for shits-n-gigs. Plan to figure out the battery location and make an ignition bracket tomorrow then figure out what to do with the rear hoop, and then deal with tires. Would like to have her done for Vintage Days . . . we'll see.

Black snowflakes or leave them silver? The rear is stained from oil- need to figure out a good cleaner if keeping them stock.

Anyone have an ideas for the front brake lines? There was once a huge, bulbous, obnoxious fairing on the bike (lol) and the brake lines ran through the fairing . . . not sure what to do with them.

Removed some unwanted tabs, mounted the battery, relocated the ignition to the left side below the seat, made a mudgaurd for the rear, cut and installed the seat foam, added some fork gaiters and a Rizoma mirror. Up next, mount the tires that are in the garage and come up with a tail light and plate bracket.

That bike is just so awesome. This one really has me wanting one. I mean sell one of my bikes to afford one wanting one. Gaiters look great I would leave this bike primarily unmolested as the look of it is just so nice as is.

Thanks man, it is currently my favorite bike . . . and to think this is what it looked like when I brought it home:

It has been a fun project- the seat took forever to design, but it came out better than expected.

New Shinko tires are on, love the tread. Now just need a tail light:

Damn gorgeous bike. I love the new color scheme. If it was me, I'd shorten the pipes and maybe something with that tail hoop. But wow, it makes me want a Beemer.. Very nice work!

Thanks, agreed, every once in a while I look at the pipes and think the same thing, plus they are very mellow sounding- needs a bit more bite. Yeah the hoop is a demon- I am afraid to cut it off as I am sure once I do I will want to mount the tail light on it, plus I use the hoop to pull the bike back onto the center stand- it is a beast- kind of funny to watch, lol.
