You know the best part about being single?
Nobody here to bitch about new tire smell in the kitchen
its a soothing kinda smell

Re: Amen Savior CB750

Ive decided to just go with the 17 and 19 inch wheels for this year, building new wheels is just outa budget for now.

Maybe next year Ill build my 16 and 21? Ive got a spare set of wheels that are just trash but the hubs are good, Ill blast, powder coat and stainless spoke them up later.

Re: Amen Savior CB750

spent the day forking off and playing with rubbers

Re: Amen Savior CB750

Ya know, I had a morbid curiosity when this thing started so I've been lurking off and on for a while... never liking the sky high neck, or apehangers...but that last pic has a better stance than I imagined. She's looking mighty good Bubba!
So now that I am out of the closet I'll admit I was looking at something similar to this for my CB750 when I first got it. Just never got the balls to cut its frame. Even joined http://deuceswild.yuku.com/directory for motivation.

LOL welcome aboard HD, I loved the bike when I saw it last year and had to have it! Just because it was an Amen Savior! Ive only seen one of these frames local and it was in a buddys garage
covered in dirt and bird shit. I hit him up for 10 years trying to get him to sell it to me. So when I saw this one right here in my little shithole town I had to have it!!

I joined a new forum too at http://www.hondachopper.com/main.html just because I know very little about the ol choppers.

Re: Amen Savior CB750

Started on the rear today, after a very slow start to my morning, and I only drank 6 Pabst last night.

And again the joys of being single I can wash my wheels in the kitchen sink all I want.
I just didnt have the heart to put my nice new white wall tire on a filthy rust spotted rim.
So out comes the SOS pads and chrome polish, the spokes are total crap on this wheel but building my nice wheels just isnt in budget this year.

Re: Amen Savior CB750

As its sits now

Started mocking up pipes

Got my pipes painted and mounted sort of. I deed to figure out how far back the rear mounts will fall on the pipes, Ill mark the pipes at that point, Im only going to wrap the pipes too wherever the rear clamps are and leave the last 6 inches of pipe unwrapped.

Are you going to leave them that length? They would look really good bent up to match the lines of the lower frame rails and slash cut just before the springs. I like your idea on the wrap too. BTW, great wheels and tires.

Yep they are staying that length, when the bike is off the jack and sitting under its own weight the low long pipes make the bike look even lower to the road. And they are nasty loud!

Got my foot pegs figured out I think, I got to thinking about clevises we use at work so I searched eBay and wouldn't ya know it I found some with the M12x1.25 thread that's on the engine bolt!!! This just made my day.
Now I want to play in the garage but I have to go to my real job

Ill take these to work with me and cut them shorter so the peg sits all the way in and seats to utilize the down stop on the peg and re drill a pivot bolt hole.

Ok so I ran outa wrap (waiting on more from those crazy yuks at Dime City) so I started working on the kickstand mount, needs to be taken care of before I permanently mount the pipes on the lefts side of the bike. it needed to be bent back down to give me clearance for the stand bolt so the head doesn't rub on the under side if the inside pipe.

went from this

To this

Also came up with a rear hanger idea not the most eye pleasing but I wast sure what else to do. Yes im going to cut off the extra length of bolt
and I may even do away with the nuts and lock washers towards the inside of the clamps and put a sleeve in there to hide the threads.
