And then there were two.. 1976 GT250 Rebuild

That's really purty! The boy can twist a wrench, huh? I'm interested to see what you come up with on those chambers, too. Are you starting on them soon?

Thanks gentlemen!

Cory, I think I will wait until I have the bike clear together and running to start those. I want to put it back to stock tune so that I can get the new pistons broke in properly, and then ill start messing with the pipes and jetting. I don't want to be doing that during the break in period so that hopefully I can just take it out and ride it through the first 40 miles of proper break in.

Sounds like a sane plan!

Went in halves on a harbor freight ultrasonic cleaner with dad. Pretty happy with the results on the petcock! 50/50 mix of pinesol and water. New gaskets and o rings as well. New filters on the way as well.

Seems to work just fine. Have you ever had any parts vapor blasted, I have been looking at some before after shots and man does the finished work look good, but does it have a downside like seal surfaces leaking after ???

Yeah I was pleased with it.

I haven't ever had anything vapor blasted, I guess ive always been to cheep to spring for it. I have HEARD that it will not disturb a sealing/bearing surface. Ive read where people claim that it is more of a metal finishing process than a cleaning process. In fact the one place in Canada (Rocket I believe its called) charges much more to blast a dirty part because it has to be cleaned and degreased before blasting.

Its an amazing process that actually seals the pores on the aluminum. once your done they show videos of writing on it with sharpie then wiping it off with their finger.

Carbs done today. A little more use of the ultrasonic cleaner, then soda blasting.

Yep, cast aluminium and brass is better than most "art" I've seen. I love how rebuilt carbs look.

Like these little jewels... A little fuel line and Ti allens is enough art to make em pop
