Beat The Clock

Re: beat the clock RIP 07.14.2010

So, I watched this great documentary about the evolution of food/flowers/marijuana. All about how we as humans have forced the evolution of plants to be what we want/need them to be.

Being that you live on a farm, and that you've helped BTC evolve into what you need/want it to be, I think you should name the scoot after this documentary.

Call her...

"Botany of Desire"

I'm going to just go ahead and say it. Not a fan, not one bit. Beat the clock oozed class and sex appeal. I don't see any of that in this? Beautiful fab work and it's clean as hell, but kind of boring in comparison to BTC. Just my .02

Blasphemer... ;)

Really man... After spending two days drooling over the bike in person, it is downright amazing. Its simplicity is what really sets it apart. It is one amazing machine.

Squad - I'm not going to say one way or another because it's only an opinion, but you should SEE the smile on Troy's face going down the road on it.

Don't get me wrong fellas, it's an awesome bike. I love the coil mounts and the details in the fab work, but in comparison to BTC, I don't think it stacks up.

Here's your .02 back with some change....go lay under a rock. If you find this bike boring perhaps needlepoint is the sport for you..... ;)

pwn'd!!

I feel ya Squadra, but look at it as a completely different bike, which in reality it is. Drawing comparsions will always cause heartache for the loss of an inspiring motorcycle, but likewise if it was transformed from it's current state to a new evolution there would e major losses out of that also. Still i miss BTC too an i'm glad i got wallpaper size images when i did ;D

Re: beat the clock RIP 07.14.2010

I look at it this way guys, Troy's bike has the fond memories and love of three bikes tied up into one. Who else here has the bragging right to say he inspired builds in multiple genres with just one bike.

"Hey my bobber was inspired by BTC".
"Really my cafe was too"
"Oh yeah, I also have a BTC inspired cafe/bobber/drag hybrid thing!"

I have gone back through the thread and looked at the pics, and reminisced about the image on page one of the low slung recently drawn and quartered cafe with the hot blue cb200 tank that I fell for. I soon realized that the evolution and adventure that unfolded between then and now is a part of the finished bike, which makes it that much cooler.

I admit squad, that the low riding lace toting incarnation was more my thing, but the current version is where this build was destined to go because that is the monster that was thrashing about trying to get out of Troy's head. Face it, it was meant to be.

I should be sure to clarify here...my previous post was in fun only. I wouldn't want Squad to lay under a rock...that'd suck...

Yeah, but it would only suck for him, so I'm OK with it... ;D ;)

Re: beat the clock RIP 07.14.2010

Hahahaha...its all good fellas. I know its going to lose some fans. Almost intentional. It really is a different bike. Mike and Cresent hit the nail on the head. Both of you. I really did build it for me. If someone gets it fantastic but if not thats fine too.
At first glance it might look kind of plain but if you look close there might be all kinds of details too see. Not the kind from BTC but the kind that not everyone sees/understands. Just got to know what you 're looking at... Hopefully soon I can shoot some closeup photos and do her a little justice

Out of respect for the deceased. For every fallen soul a new one is born. Troy, you have given me inspiration along with other members of this forum and from other forums on the web This little one here started out as a pristine 71 CB450, now it's known as the "Evil Twin". Built it for the GF, but she never got her license.
