I've had my 75 honda CB400F for 8/9 years and after the head started leaking a bit and also finally finding an original YRS Yoshima exhaust I decided to tear into the bike and bore out to 466 along with a lot of other fun things. The bike isn't quite done yet and I have a link http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=105027.0 to the build in the sohc4 honda forums but I feel I'll get more "cafe" love here.
I don't have any photos when I first got the bike but it wasn't exactly stock by any means so I didn't feel bad tearing into it. Back 7 years ago I decided to put a front end of a 550 on along with 550 bottom triples and CBX top triple along with dual disks. I also made the rear hump with integrated tail/blinkers as you couldn't find anything even 7 years ago. It's still holding up although the seat fell off a shelf while the bike was apart a few months ago and cracked the paint. oh well, gives the bike character.
Below are photos from right before I tore into it and throughout the build. The body work will all remain what I had before but it'll be a different beast.
Bike before
Bike right after getting the Yoshima ceramic coated (never really rode it with the yoshima yet as I didnt rejet before tearing into the bike)
The infamous Yoshima exhaust. Better than Yoshimura? I think so... I had to make my own baffle as the original was rusted through and just fell apart.
drilled and thinned 550 rotors
fun parts
powder
dual disk mounted. both rotors are now the weights of 1 stock rotor
late last year
new APE HD cylinder studs!
engine build

getting there...
