BUILD OFF!!!! LOOKS LIKE WE HAVE A WINNER!

Re: BUILD OFF!!!! This make be a shorter build-off than planned... We shall see!

I have a feeling that I'm going to have to wait until the end to form an opinion.

Well folks... Been sick as a dog for the past few days. Think its finally passing though. I hate winter...

The frame is back in the shop as I said before. Just got a new propane tank for the heater. Some new bits have arrived, and hopefully this week will see some serious progress. I have a few things I need to do to get the frame ready for paint, than I have to start on the real work.

Pics and actually interesting updates soon.

Mike I could probley give ya a good break on material by going through my paint cabinet. Should be real cheap to spray the frame.

not to second guess you... but Mike you should really powder the frame, exp on a hard tail where it will flex and be that low the the ground... would run like 200 - 300 to have it coated (in color) ... i would highly recomend it

Well Joe... In a perfect world... Ha ha ha ha...
Honestly until my wife finishes her masters program in the spring, theres very little money available for the toys. Id love to powder the frame. Had an estimate from a local for around $175. Guy does good work too. Just not in the budget right now. Maybe Ill tear it down next winter when the wifes back to full time and get it done then.

For now, Ill just layer the ol' rattle can on nice and thick. I dont like my personal bikes to be too pretty anyway. I have to be the best lookin guy at the party, ya know? ha ha ha

Re: BUILD OFF!!!! This make be a shorter build-off than planned... We shall see!

you thought about a bed liner or having it rino linered? i had a buddy have a frame done in college in the rino liner for like $55 bucks and it came out insane! they have like 8 diff colors you can choose from too

I have Joe... I can get the brush on kit for relativly cheap, and it looks cool. Ive seen it done before on hot rod frames and suspension parts.

And B, that hurts. :'(

Re: BUILD OFF!!!! This make be a shorter build-off than planned... We shall see!

this one was sprayed... came out great! we tried the brush kit on parts for my brohters goldwing build the black and green one... came out like crap so we ditched that idea... but we also used the rustolem bed liner not rino

Entire truck done in Rhino lining. Meh......but what ever tickles your pickle.

The grey looks better than the black, IMO.

Got a little bit of work done.

Again don't laugh at my ugly welds. I am getting good penetration.

Still have some grinding and some touch up spots but I am pleased with it so far.

Couple update pics. Switched the tank again! haha. Fit a 63' triumph star hub rear 18" wheel. Got the back bone all tacked together. Should have it welded up in the next day or 2, and be getting close to paint. I had to cut the tunnel out of the tank. So thats the next big task, welding in a new tunnel. I made my coil mounts and got them tack'd on as well. I finally feel like the bike is getting close to being finished being mocked up... I think? haha
I also scored a tail light from my buddy Jeff. It's a sparto. Anyway, thats it for now. Later
