OMG - If anyone want to go in on this I could really use that body work

I would if I wasn't in the wrong country. That's a smoking deal. Triple your money at least by parting it out. Exhaust alone would be worth 500 if it's in good shape.

Rare Investment Opportunity (grants pass)

I have an opportunity that may seem a little different but will work with no doubt in my mind. Here's the deal. I have the skills and knowledge to build a motorcycle from the ground up, I went to MMI (motorcycle mechanics institute) and graduated with a 3.8 GPA. This school teaches you every aspect of a motorcycle, not like auto mechanics where they specialize in one category like brakes or transmissions. I know how to fix everything on a bike.

So what I need from you is funds. We can make a very healthy profit from this. We can build a bike for anywhere from $8,000 to $10,000, and sell for twice as much or more. Custom bikes are not cheep, just look it up and you will be amazed how much they are going for.

Lets get down to the reason why I'm doing this, I love working on bikes and my dream is to build them. we both benefit, you make a profit and I get to do what I love. Think about it, do some research and lets do something great. This will be a partnership, you have worked hard for the money that this project needs. I will put in the time and craftsmanship it takes to build a one of a kind work of art.
email or call show contact info

So I e-mailed the guy:

I am very interested in the opportunity listed in your craigslist ad. Do you have a portfolio showing any of your past builds. What style do you specialize in?

Thanks,

Al

This is his response:

Unfortunately no portfolio, I have not had the opportunity to build one yet.I would like to build a old school chopper. Rigid frame and preferably a springer front end. With an evo engine, the best engine Harley made.

Sounds like a good deal!

i emailed them also and asked simply is this a joke ?
response:
We can ensure you that this is not a joke. You are bidding on the motorcycle that you see in the picture.

BPM is a start up by a mechanic from a former established build shop in LA.

I am a hired rep trying to sell their motorcycles.

We apologize for any confusion this listing has caused.

Hopefully, with the sale of this bike, BPM can begin to build up a brand.

We thank you for your interest.

I just got a response too.

Dear 67fury383,

Hi 67fury383,

It is a Lifan engine. The clutch and valve springs were changed out.

BPM is a start up from a mechanic from a former established build shop in LA.

Hopefully, with the sale of this bike, BPM can begin to build up a website.

We thank you for your interest.

Not stolen----- right

Selling something he doesn't own IS stealing. Someone send the link to his listing to the Suzuki dealership in his town.

Bit harsh.. I would never rat a working guy out to a company even if he's not being honest about his dishonestly.. personally if he'd just say "look the fucking dealership has me in for more money than it's worth cos they tied me into a repair estimate that was bullshit like they always do, so I'm just trying to get out of a jam by parting it out so I can feed my 12 kids and stop getting drunk every night and beating up the dog cos my life's in the shitter.".... then I would consider buying it just to help him.. but reporting him...that's some bad karma dude...

Re: "Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

I think you're giving him to much credit. He is flat out telling you that he owes money on the bike. He didn't say, after "I sell it, I'll pay the dealership off and then send you the title". He's probably some meth head that bought the bike and now needs a fix.

I guess i just assume the best in people when I don't know. One thing I'll never do is rat a guy out.. that's just straight up rude. Even if he is a meth head you don't know his life, maybe he's got good reason to be or maybe he's not but regardless, why would anyone go outa their why to just bring more crap on someone for no reason. Let him role his dice and see what he can score against the man. Maybe he's an asshole but I'd be a bigger one for ratting him out. If he was selling someone else's bike then that would be something else but it's a dealer.. and if you've ever dealt with one you'll know they're the biggest crooks of all especially when it comes to repairing older bikes - fuck them I say and if he can part it out, report it stolen, give them the finger and smoke himself to an early grave I'd be a happy man.

sorry dude you are wrong, it is stealing ,plain and simple
time to rethink your approach to life and karma both
in a way your are just like a bigot or a racist, and dishonest

It's called minding your own business... If it don't affect you in any direct fashion then ignore it for it just might save your life. Sure tell on the guy then he goes to jail files a motion of discovery to find out your name an address and shoots you and your family for ruining his life when he gets out. When all you had to do was mind your own business... I've been to prison and let me tell you revenge is top of the list in there. Not saying it would happen but hell who knows. Im totally with Ribo on this one. Your just a snitch to me if you tell on anyone about anything. Snitches deserve to die in ditches. This was something I learned growing up and not from prison. Real trust worthy people don't tell.. They react..
