Brigestone Drag Bike 1968 on Kijiji

What a joke, this must be the guy growing the good stuff in my corn fields

When that bike came out in the late sixties it was really fast for teh time and maybe would have worked well as a drag bike in the small engine modified class GG/M and would probably still do pretty well as long as no one brought a Banshee motor to the fight. You have to think of it for what it is and that's a very old drag bike that maybe could race again in Super Eliminator (2 stroke) group.

This is kind of awesome because the first qualification of the person who did this "restoration" (with a ton of aftermarket parts) was that he is a "detail oriented ski lift inspector"... detail-oriented right up to that oil leak, and it's recommended that you use a shitty carb sync tool to check the carbs as apparently that detail wasn't included.

Ski lift INSPECTOR. He FINDS faults, he doesn't fix them.

Sent from planet Earth using mysterious electronic devices.

For supposedly having $200,000 invested he sure is biting the bullet with the $42,000 then. I'll bet it's more like 12,000 invested in his 30,000 shiny turd...

You could prolly gold plate all his chrome bits for less than that.

He must have had the work done where this guy did - he put $15k into a stock ironhead sportster!

You don't add fuel and oil costs into the value, sheesh!

Sit back and admire THE quintessential cafe racer. It can be had for only ONE thousand dollars!

Lack of velocity stacks, goofy seat, and needing crank seals is disconcerting, but still pretty awesome old bike for that price.

Two strokes don't often use velocity stacks. They seem to work better with short intakes and at best an intake "ring" i.e. a rounded ring around the intake to smooth airflow into the carb.

Crank seals are a bit of a job stopper, but at that price you can't go wrong. Odd looking chambers though. Cheap racing for someone who can replace the crank seals.

That's what I'm thinking. Nice deal for someone wanting to get on the track.
