Someone in TX wanta make some money?
I want the distubutor, and another member(of sohc4) wants the front end and rear brakes.
That's the asking price right there!

Please someone grab this and sell us some of the parts

Someone from the SOHC board actually drove out to see it, and didn't buy it.
Even knew people were interested in the parts.
Just didn't want to get involved in the work of parting it out.

I get that parting out bikes is a pain, but this one is a knock out.

-$300 for the dizzy(done deal, ill PP ASAP)
-$300 for the front end and rear brakes(standing offer by respected member of SOHC)
-$100 rear wheel, it is a moris. Will sell instantly
-$100 rack of carbs
-$50 shocks (cant tell brand, maybe more)
-$150 for the pipe?
-$50 tank

I will bet that the motor internally is not stock. Would be VERY interested in any speed parts that were inside.
But even at if 100% stock and locked up (worst case) there has to be $100 worth of parts that can be pulled off it.

Then take the rest (seat, frame ect) and throw it in a dumpster.
Would take an afternoon to strip it down and box everything up.

I cant see how you could not double your money in an afternoon.

Overwhelmed by the clear and concise info =)

That CB500 is 90% junk. Pipe might be OK if it's not rusted through. Dizzy is interesting but irrelevant - dyna is simpler and more effective.

Morris wheels will look nice on a museum rest after they are cleaned and powder coated but there is no way you could use them on the street and live long and prosper. There was not a lot of good stuff for the 500 unless it came from Kaz Yoshima (OMT) or Pops Yoshimura and the probability of it being in good condition is slight.

When new, they would all have been valuable parts but 20-30 years later, not so much.

Yeah there are modern parts that work much better. But some do still value "period" parts.
I very much want that dizzy for my chopper.
Willing to pay more then a modern Dyna so that I have it too.

Yup, I would pay a decent price for the motor and gut it, polish it up, make a nice stand/clear pub top table and stools... shoot the shit and drink beers at it. ;D
