"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Why bother to argue with him. Dude will find out that there is no market for a 9k cb 175 and either keep it or cut his price by 6k or so.bj

Well, there ya go. We won't argue with him here, but still... I've never made money on anything but a flip. The only way I've gotten near my money's worth is in trade, but that is such an arbitrary value.

He was concerned when he pulled the top end and found the ring gap spacing was off, like that matters. The only time the rings are spaced evenly is when you put them there, as soon as the motor runs they rotate in the grooves and it's not unusual to have them all lined up.

I hope it sells for 9k. In that case i have 100k in bikes here, easy.

If you're gonna shoot the moon, i would think it best not to banter with the naysayers. Kinda lessens the credibility of the build when you are constantly defending it.

Rarely do you get what you want on a build. He is correct on parts costs, but why would I want a 175 when I could have a Busa for $9k. Just cause you spent it don't mean it's worth it. He's going to own it for some time.

I guess you can put a price on "love", but for $9k I'd rather have one of these:

I love it. Paid someone to build his dream with the same douche bag vision most bike uneducated builders use and immediately found out it wasn't worth keeping. ;D

Gawd.

He paid someone to build it, which means the guy is a professional. Right Mobius? ;D Professional taker of money. The real budget went into the harbor freight headlight and the $10 pods.

Starts, runs and drives "fine".

I don't see the problem.

XB?You wanna take this? Now watch,my luck he will like this one.

The kickstand, clearly the kickstand. Wait, the chain.

No, the oil filter. Definitely the oil filter *could* be from a 75 :)
