cb 750 f2 78 cafe build

Got my exhaust fitted today it's from carpys .but when it's all tightened up it touches the sump .as any one eles had this problem .bike is a 78 f2

Just stand on the end ans shove a chunk of 1x4 init :

I think its a bad pipe, I have one on my kids CB and it has an easy inch, I don't see how you get it lower short of heating it up and forcing it, but you risk a kink.

Just my luck .if I press down on the pipe at the back it gives me about 5mm gap off the sump .think I may have to make some kind of bracket

Maybe a little heat deflection also will be needed

Well not posted for a while .I sent my carbs off to be overhauled should be back in next couple of weeks .but I've bought my self my next project a Gs550ex going to do it in a brat style .

Carpy has a lot of fun and has built some neat Brit influenced CB's, but should not be in the exhaust business... the quality control is out of his hands and none of the pipes are fixture tested before shipped. I worked in an exhaust plant that made corvette exhaust to school bus and Cat equipment exhaust and every pipe that left was QC inspected randomly. Carpy should stand behind it or get out.

That seems to be the general notion I've seen while browsing different CB forums, you're taking a risk when dealing with him.
