what plastic is this specifically made? sorry if this has already been asked. UHMW or Delrin or something different?
 
Yay! Got a run of the tensioners done. Now just have to get the guides done and then ready to ship out. Sorry I haven't been on in a while guys. The gyms getting busy already. Figured it wouldn't pick up until New Years resolution time.

Specialty plastic that I had to order specific to the application. The research was a bitch. Calls and meetings with engineers and several different suppliers. Ended up having to order something completely different that has a high enough heat rating to allow for engine overheating (which seems to take an expert on its own to figure out with all the different ratings!), won't be too brittle when bent and doesn't absorb moisture potentially causing eventual swelling and failure down the road.
The last thing I wanted was to hear of some poor guy dying cause his motor locked up and blood on my hands.
You guys better LOVE me after dropping over $3000 on a sheet of damn plastic! lol. (minimum order due to custom order) Not to mention finding a CNC operator/programmer willing to do it. lol. Went to over 10 companies for quotes and didn't even hear back from most of them because it wasn't a big enough job. First thing they all ask is "What company are you with?" Seems like the others priced it out of range so I'd say no.
Almost like you have to have balls of steel or stupidity and pockets full of perseverance to pull this shit off.
Luckily I had stupidity and 14 guys waiting for parts instead. Now I just have to try to sell a bunch more to break even. lol.

Ps. If anyone has any other projects they need done I might be able to pull it off now that I'm set up. There will have to be descent demand for it though or the next time I'll be pan handling for plastic. LOL.

The guides didn't come out right. The program has to be altered a bit. We're working on it. The pin that sits in the slot is too wide. Machine isn't cutting them down. Could do it manually but it would be a PITA not too mention it might not look very professional. I tried looking at all the coding and it was like watching "The Matrix" lol. Almost went cross eyed. Also the sides aren't coming out as clean as I'd like. I think there was a tiny vibration in the end mill or platform. Won't affect performance at all but I'd like them to look like a million bucks...or at least $99.99. lol. Sorry it's taking so long guys. Really didn't expect it to be so complicated. There was definitely several reasons why no one's done this on a large scale before. I'm getting these things patented when they're done. Seriously, expect a patent pending. lol.
Also for the guys who pre ordered, I'm going to be refunding some bucks when they ship out. Not a single person has complained about the delays and I really appreciate it.
