I've finally gotten in a decent ride on my cb350. I know I know... I need to update my build thread and post vids/pics.. I don't have a camera currently, but I'm working on it. I took my first few rides almost a month ago now, the bike was running but it would bog down under any load. After enlisting the help of some friends with the timing and valve adjustments, then replacing the 35 year old coils/condensers/wires/caps the bike finally runs strong.. it pulls in all gears and its surprisingly fast for 325cc.
Anyways, getting to the point.. the bike seemed to be really hot. I was moving around on city streets with lots of stop signs and stop lights, and it was like 90° today, so maybe thats all it was. The plugs keep getting carbon fouled, so I'm not running lean.. but what I'm really afraid of is that I may not be getting oil to the top end. How would I know if this is the case.. or do I just find out when my engine goes boom?
Also, how hot does your motor normally get? At a stop I could feel the heat radiating from the little twin. Oh and I'm running open CL pipes and velocity stacks, pretty much the same setup that troybilt had on beat-the-clock (he had the setup at one point at least..)
