cb350f 1st project agh !

First off amazed how this is coming along. Beautiful bike so far.

I agree the seat looks a little long to me. is it going to sit so high in the rear? Looks likea very jagged angle showing the rear fram rails (perhaps lower the seat and taper the lip? Would it be possible to lower your front tank mounts slightly, not raise your rear mounts; and have a little more coverage of the rear rails?

Does this make sense?Hard to explain. I would post a quick paint of the area I'm talking about but can't upload from work computer. You are being so meticulous about every part of the build and that area just looks off in comparison to me. Just my 2 cents.

Gary

Ahh I see what you've got going there. nice work. Is the electronics tra going to sit down between the frame a little? that would make all the difference in what I was talking about.

Gary

Yeh ya right Gary was thinking of mounting the hump part on the bottom of seat tray rather than top that should help maybe when its painted black same as frame it may help and it would be easier to drop the tank a bit too amazing wot standing back n lookin at it do's sometimes can't see the wood for the tree's haha :-[ and ime thinkin bout using two quick release catches like on race fairings to hold the top down :-\
I took a lot more pics with my proper camera that show it so much better but they won't load up ?? sometyhing bout the server ?? ime useless with pc's man ???

Well had my first go at sewing my seat layout :-\ ide sooner fettle a motor than try using a sewing machine haha dug a 30 year old sewing machine out the loft , still in working order  . Marked out the vinyl cut well over size just incase it went tits -up ::) it aint as easy as first thought the vinyl got a life of its own stretchin every which way :p so far made the cross stitchs filled with 7oz Dacron (fibre filling )for seat. Used silver pipin sewn to vinyl to go cross back of seat this will be held in place with press stud fasteneners and sewn to side panels hope its gonna work out otherwise gonna have to shell out for a one off £££ :'( will keep ya posted with more pics

A few small updates well this sewing lark aint easy  guess the machine was'nt ment for big stuff ::) slowly getting there when its done gonna need honest opinions :-\ don't want to " spoil ship for haporth o tar " as they say here in these parts . Superglue gonna be useful haha . Also changed condensers n points had arcing between point gap when ignition was on and i flick open points manual says condensors suspect so changed everything ,still arcing (spark jumping in point gap) is this ok or not ???

Well still tryin to get her running :-[ should wait till my new carb refurb kits arrive ???but never could wait haha :p sure timings all to cock, :-\ once i do the jetting and reclean carbs it might show more ( could i have put camshaft in wrong / valve adjustment out ) :-\ what do you think have had her runnin for minute or two now just backfire n flame out exhaust but no run bought spare exhaust off ebay so i could cut it down to make shortie with no baffles, full exhaust restricted the motor a lot see pic got pod filters too ,hope it aint anything major dont really want to pull motor agh! :'(

Timing... maybe, but that doesn't explain the ran for a short time then quit.
Could also be too lean with the pods and exhaust. You sure you got fuel flow? Almost sounds like it used up the fuel in the float bowls then ceased to get any more.
