CB360 - Penelope

Nice to see you back at it! Took a break also. Just finished cleaning up a 98 748, fun bike!
Back to focusing on the 360!
Take care!

Welp, I have ever so slowly been making process. My wife has become tired of here me complaining about not having a bike to ride so she has instated "Motorcycle Monday's" where I am forced to work on Penny after work....some motivation is coming back, but it's not like it was 3 years ago!

The rear shock is now much softer with the extra leverage, which is great!

Here is the swingarm with another 3" on it.

Removing the old coped round tubes (fun!):

I added a 3" box section to the arms, and made new little ends for the round tubes. Welded it all back together, and this is the result:

I think it looks better, not nearly as squashed:

Dude. That thing looks like a freaking brute. Cool as F...
Is your chain gonna clear ok?

Putting a piece of paper across top of sprockets (on screen pic) it's looking real close
Couple of extra teeth on rear and one more on front should give plenty of clearance

man, this thing is looking sick! i love the harley wheel adapted to modern usd forks. been thinking of doing that for a while, and now that i can actually see it, i want to do it even more. keep up the good work!

Well....about that...maybe. I have an idea of actually taking a chunk out of the swingarm where the chain would intersect and making a recess for a delrin slider block. It would match the swingarm profile so it would all be flush. I think it would look slick!

This is also an option. I forget why I settled on this sprocket combo (purchased over 2 years ago)...but if it is really bad, I could do that. The sprockets are 520, not that it matters at all, but they will be a little narrower.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys!

Do it!! The massive rotors kind of hide the spokes, but you can still see it. If I had my way (which is not now), I would take off the 19" hoop and lace it all up to an 18". That would help drop the nose a bit and give it a more aggressive stance that I am going for with out making the bike ridiculously tall. I could probably even take off one of the rotors and still have enough stopping power. That would require a lot of cleaning up of one of the fork legs though, and right now I just want it to run!

MORE AGRESSIVE...are you kidding? Shes already past the "more aggressive" mark.

Looks great!!
If you want to drop the front. Could slide the fork tubes up an inch?
Running a 18" rim will give you more tire sellections too.

If you look close in the pictures, the fork tubes are already slid a bit. I would need to make some little shims if I wanted to go any lower because the legs taper....which is possible, but I don't like the look of the fork legs poking out. But thanks for the tip!

18" rim would be a better way to lower front another 1/2", problem is, HD hub = 40 spoke, they are a LOT more expensive to get rims for plus you would need another set of shorter spokes

Exactly...and right now, I just want it to run! Plently of work to do before worrying about something not so critical. So that would be something that I would do way later on

Inspiring you say? Why is that?

Hey guys, it's a sad to say but I think I have come to the realization that I need to sell Penny. If you are interested in purchasing this, finishing it, and promising me a ride once it is done, please PM me. The bike is currently located in Orange County California.
