Cb360 Seat Pan Help

Your level of ingenuity is strong to quite strong. Not sure if you had any ideas for me when it comes to bending my pan up over the tank mount. Any specific, easy to come by tools for the bending process?

I'm not not too experienced with forming sheet metal, hopefully some one can chime in on how to do it properly.

Here's how I laid my seat pan out before cutting into the metal. I found a large piece of card stock and cut it fairly close to size leaving a little bit of excess.

Then I found my center point and measured the width (y) of the frame at each equal increment (x) from front to back. I actually measured OD to OD and subtracted 1/4 inch from the overall measurement. Then I just connected the dots. This gave me a very accurate measurement. There may be an easier way but this is just how my simple brain operates.

Once I had my exact card stock template, I decided to leave about 2 inches of excess at the front for the bend. I used and angle grinder to cut it out and a bench grinder to contour it just right.

Bending the metal was easier than I thought. I used a 2" piece of angle iron and a couple of clamps. The weight of my body was enough to create a press in order to achieve a semi sharp bend.

Very Nice Coming along ....What are your plans for the rear Hump? If you plan on steel an English wheel Will Make everything Go Much Quicker/Smooter....There are other ways and shapes that don't require one but if your thinking of a nice Round cafe bump stop English wheel is the way to go.....Of course you'll need a sand bag, hammers, and a welder but that's the easy part....Not sure where your at but if your close by MA u can stop by and use mine Although most people working with Sheet steel would have one
