CB750F to a CR750

Mostly because I cant help myself. Im waiting on gaskets for the mikunis but thought that it would be fun to try some dellortos as well.
Thought that it would be cool to have a mikuni set on one bike and the dellortos on the other. I really would like to have the manifolds remade...

Best laid plans......well I thought that the weber-dellortos-mikunis were all the same mounts....guess I was wrong
Will ill still clean these up and see what I can do with them

Scored a ARD mag set up cheap
It needs some work but the important bits are there. Also have a pair of working tractor mags on they way to mix and match the needed parts
The ARD mag is a fairbanks unit that was milled to fit the CB750 mount.
Goal is to have a working mag thats not a grand....wish me luck

School and my CBX have been taking up most of my time but would like to get a motor in this thing asap and get this project in gear

On a side note.....anyone have any options of installing a side kick stand on a frame with no brackets and has already been powder coated?

All rebuilt and cleaned.
They are not going to be run on this build, they are going on a set or weber manifolds (that actually work with these carbs) and used on a cool period cafe bike.
Cleared out alot of other stuff from my plate to try and focus on this bike.

Thanks for the update. I found this thread in the "Show unread posts since last visit" search, started reading from page 1 and couldn't figure out where it came from and how I missed it. Then on page 7 realized the YEAR on the post dates!
Well done and congrats on your persistance!!!

Not sure if this is a fishhead kit or just a copy

Well I scored a RC unit. Actually two so if anyone has a kawi and wants one PM me.
Since school and such are taking up most of my free time I have not gotten much done on the bikes

I figured I would mock some stuff up just to see and light a fire under my ass.
As soon as classes are done the plan is to get the bottom end built and installed. I have all the parts i need.

I've never seen an RC unit. What's that?

It is an ignition replacement
This is and early unit with a distributor. It will also mount any VW magneto.
Russ Collins built these for his drag bikes at an upgrade to the ARD units that were out there.

Pretty cool. I've never seen a distributor like that on a bike.

that's a really cool conversion with the clutch, a lot of racers won't ride hydraulic clutches because of the lack of feel though, what's the motivation for the conversion, are you running heavier springs?

I dont think im going bother with the hydraulic clutch for the yoshi motor but might for the stroker motor down the line.
But yes its for heavy springs

Painted the engine cases
I need to modify the primary tensioner and order the cam chain slipper before getting the bottom end together.
Im debating on getting the transmission undercut while its apart too
