CB750F to a CR750

It's next in line after the chopper is 100%

Bike has sat for far to long in the corner of my garage.
Have collected a few more trick engine parts.

I wonder if tarozzi makes a fork brace for the gl1000 front end, I upgraded my CB750 to that...will have to check!
:)

Where did you get your Head light? I LOVE how bright it is! Are you using the stock wiring harness and stock electrical components? I ask because I REALLY don't want to upgrade the electronics....well mauybe just add a flasher relay for LED lights but that's it.

I don't think I have ever had the light on....
Bucket is OEM factory.
Lens is a hella with removable bulb.
Bulb is a ddm tuning hid.

I'm not sure if I will run an OEM harness or a custom.
Don't know what you mean buy "upgrading electrical". Wires are wires.

My knowledge of electrical components on this bike is very minimal. I'm guessing you don't have to tweak anything special in order to install more modern lights/halogen? I'm afraid of blowing out the electrical components if I get more modern lights plus LED? I may be just talking outta my ass again....:/

Got your link! THanks.

LEDs draw less.
A 35w headlight is a 35w headlight.

Probably have more things to fix/repair/tweak due to age rather then mods.

I hate when I dig this thread up and see how long I have been working on the bike.
Well I am set to finish my Mechanical Engineering degree. Have a constantration on aerospace and a focus on propulsions. So it isnt like I have been sitting on my butt.

Other bikes have come and gone, but I have always kept this one. Learned so much about these and the cool performance parts that are out there for them.

Still have some silly internal parts around to build up a motor, but have changed gears for right now.
Goal is to just get the thing on the road...

So the original stock motor got a coat of paint and some dress up parts.
Unsure on running the RC set up, an ARD, a dyna or just stock yet.

Will get this motor into the frame soon and start getting it wired and plumed to run

Yeah.
RC engineering sold a base to use aircooled VW stuff. Kit came with a distributer, but most pulled them and installed magnetos.

Interesting.
Advantages?

Magneto is a powerful spark and no need for a battery. Mostly a racer thing, but uber cool on the street.

Distributor is not a "wasted spark" and should make adjustments easier.
No real advantage over a modern electronic ignition or a really well dialed in stock set up.

While I HATE mods that just look cool, I cant help but love this set up. No downside, and cool looks.

Thats what I thought, couldn't think of any real advantage. It is super cool though and I'd run the shit out of it.

The option of having a real powerful magneto is nice though.
My other magneto set ups (ARD) use a less powerful magneto.
Better spark then stock, but not "full race"
