Is that shit built up or pitted down?
Looks down to me.
At that point I just wouldn't trust them to not be putting shit into the fluid.
And it's not like any of this stuff is hard to find, rare or pricey so I see no reason to run sub par stuff.

There might be a little pitting, but from what I can see in person it's all built up. I agree it doesn't look like that in the pic though.

Such an opinionated crowd. Do what you do, buddy.
I guess I'm lucky I'm building an already hacked up CB360 from a big box of shitty rusted parts.

Meh, they didn't voice anything that I hadn't already been considering non-stop since I got it. They're just trying to push me in the right direction.

I think with time I could sneak a smoker into the garage to do a full on race setup. It'll just take me a while.

Meh, it's the Internet. It's not for real...

Have you checked to make sure there is not junk built up in the bleeder or other places in the caliper?

Everything seems pretty clean, but I'm replacing anything and everything I can with it. Got a new bleeder and stainless steel lines. New piston, new seals, new pads. Everything but the caliper itself is new.

I don't know if I'm just an idiot or if I was sent the wrong sized pistons, but these are a few mm too long to fit in the space allotted. Is there some trick to getting these into place?

I really wish these calipers hadn't come to me already disassembled with the pistons missing now :

Just realized these calipers are to an LTD and not the standard GL1000. I've got a couple more bolts to remove it seems.

I can't wait to see how this ends. So, Withers started with a nice example - it looks like you really care mate so do what you want. You're not afraid to ask questions and that is great so I'm a little disheartened that you are getting a hard(ish) time from some quarters. Lets all enjoy it with W, eh? If it turns out the way he wants then you have to be happy. It does look like a lovely example though so I'll be checking e-bay. Good luck with the build mate.

These have mostly been taken with my 6D and a 50mm f/1.8. For the ones in the garage I bounced a flash off the ceiling.

The closeups were taken with my Sigma 150 f/2.8 macro.

On a side note, I don't think I like having the clipons mounted on top of the triple. And I think I'm going to paint the triple tree flat black.

beautiful :D
,clipons are all wrong for that bike tho, if you are going for a really good look and want the bike to be fun to ride what it needs is some standard bars about 2" lower than the stock cb bars
yes needs the black top triple,a set of titanium silver gray renthall 7/8'' CR bend without the crossbar
use stock CB honda indicator light/top clamp
this means you will have to drill the yoke for the bar clamps and also those clocks need to be up a bit and tilted back
i have a set of the renthalls i speak of if you will consider what they would look like on there you can have them for the cost of shipping
personally i would have kept the stock CB clocks,in the stock position they really got that right

Ehhh, we'll see. I'm not opposed to going back to some of the stock parts but I really like the new gauges. They do look a little off compared to the rest of the bike though. In order to go back to something other than clip-ons would be difficult. The stock GL1000 upper triple is a monstrosity and hideous. It has massive risers built in. So that would leave me with hacking up the new triple. I'm going to run it as is for a while but if it gets to the point where I'm too uncomfortable to enjoy riding it I'll pursue that idea.

They sell clip ons with a rise in them.
Better option for sure.

With stock pegs low bars suck.
Uncomfortable and loss of leverage on the front end.
Might look cool for pictures, but a down grade for function
