CB750K7 Cafe Racer Build

Today's Top-tip: when you've spent a long time stripping a motor and you get it back in the frame and fueled up ready to go for the first time....MAKE SURE THIS KILL SWITCH IS OFF!!!! Once I solved that little problem, she fired up on the button. Sweet. ;D

Hi Finnigan. Initial start up was pod-less and although it fired first time it was a little lumpy. After I fitted the pods it smoothed right out and settled in at around 1000rpm. Cracking the throttle produced good, crisp revs and that sounded really sweet. I ran with the Motad 4 into 1 pipe for the start up as the stock collars didn't fit the new headers so I'll get that sorted ASAP and fire her up with the new 4 into 2 reverse megas. Hope it's loud.

Thats great news, nicely done! All you had to do was change the mains to 135?

Hi Finnigan. I changed the main jets to 135's and dropped the circlip on the jet needle one notch. Gotta get more fuel in there. Everything faster than everything else is my (one of) motto (s).

So, after a **** of a week - a week where I had to revert to my other day job - I find that, yet again, my tank builder has failed to deliver on his promise (that's around a month late now) and the Tarozzi rear-sets are the wrong colour and have several parts missing. I predict a less than satisfying Saturday in the 'shop.

I don't know about you guys but if a supplier is pressed and up against it wouldn't it be nice if they called and said something like 'hey, how are ya? Y'know what? - I'm sorry but I'm running late on your job'. That way we could perhaps ORGANISE OUR LIVES A LITTLE BETTER!!! It's all about managing expectations chaps.

Sorry about the rant but am I the only one who gives a ***! Grrrrr........

.....and another thing....my wingman, Dr. Helmut Hofmann, has a daughter who works for an airline so he's ****ed off to Cape Verde for a long weekend. Don't worry though, he's texted and the 'weather is lovely'!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so gonna get drunk tonight.

Here's a picture of my Speed Triple to cheer us all up.

I feel your pain man, its happened to us all at one point. How can you be mad with a bike like that though! :)

Mate, I've ridden since I was 12 years old, so, that's ****y odd years ago and this Speed Triple makes me cry. It's possibly the best base build bike you can get. Honestly, try one. They came fast out of the box and we got this one to just short of 150bhp without even trying. If you ever wanted a bike that could wheelie for a laugh, this is it.

Had a laugh with some other bikes though, eh?

The one i build before this, ya. It took months to get the frame back from a welder that was supposed to detab it and put on a rear hoop (which i supplied). The only good part was that he felt bad and didn't charge me much at all.

Phuq 'em, dude! Do it yourself however it turns out.

I'll only ever say stuff, have stuff, sell stuff that I can supply. Otherwise life is dull - and full of fear - and disapointment - and loathing - and panic when the 'phone rings.... you listening suppliers? Yes, you!

Sorry Finnigan but I got riled.

This is one of the items I'm waiting for.... If it wasn't so nice perhaps I would care less?
