Following. I just started working on my second small honda. Sl100. I'm super stoked to see this little guy coming together the seat is Sooo fugging nice. Great stuff.
Thanks for all the kind words! Just made up a plate to replace the standard cover one on the air box, which is now my battery, wire compartment, relay and what ever else or the time being until I end up getting a smaller battery for it.
So for the time being I've made a new plate out of aluminium and wrapped it in carbon vinyl (makes everything lighter ayy) Looks a little better too instead of having a bright silver plate sticking out!
Wrapped the speedo while o was at it!
Anyway it still stands at getting the oil seal sorted on the crankshaft balance which I've had no luck with and just being boggled every time I go near the thing! Awaiting delivery of a new coil and then MOT on the 25th should see it onto the road if all goes well!
Already started looking for a suitable engine I can strap into this to nudge nearer the ton! ;D
Looking for either a 125 stroker or a 250 4t maybe a 250 ninja lump or a cbr250r, would be scary none the less but would be a fun little addition to such a small bike! The thing sure would fly!
Thought you might like to see the view I had from out in Austria last month when I was skiing!
I used to be an MOT tester
It could fail on exhaust (discharge angle)
Do you have a chain guard fitted?
That could be another fail point although without pillion footrests you should get away with it
Haha, wish the weather was as good over here in the U.K! Saying that we have got weather up to 23c this weekend until next week
Anyway it went through the MOT alright, although there was a few advisories one being a slight bulge in the front tyre from where it must have been stood before it came into my hands! (didn't think to check with such new tyres!) Also a slightly loose head bearing race, going to do it when I tackle the swing arm though
Also riding today it seems to loose all power as soon as it gets up to around 55! With the modification to the stock system including a K&N filter, and a freer flowing exhaust I'm thinking that the idle will have to go up one because of the popping on the deceleration and also lack of power after 3rd gear! ???
Right you guys, just had my first proper ride on my bike today Honda cg125, going up hills and when you open up the throttle quickly it feels as though its slipping out of gear! WHATS YOUR IDEAS?????
Definitely slipping clutch its real high on the biting point almost have to fully let the lever out before it begins biting ! New clutch it looks like to me :-\
On the plus side I got it up to 55mph today but the bike felt like it still had more to give! When I pulled the clutch in and took a plug reading it was a black sooty colour with the arm being a dark brown, all be it I haven't yet fut a proper K&N filter on it yet but I'm leaning towards its maybe the exhaust being less restrictive and not providing enough back pressure ??? Any tips or advice will be much appreciated!
Nope! its virtually as slack as it can be right now which is about 2mm play from where the lever has to take up the slack to allow the clutch to engage ive got to let the cable slacken right off!
