Re: CX500 "Bastardwing" - 25th May - Gauge has arrived.
Yeah, I had heard that. I found this post before I actually bought it which helped axplain things a little better http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=19552.0
I also think the drive ratio was 2.8:1 but I need to double check. This information is on the Australian CX forum somewhere so I'll check that out at some point too. realistically, I can test it until the bike's running though, but that's not too far away.
Re: CX500 "Bastardwing" - 25th May - Gauge has arrived.
I'm hoping to make a start on getting the forks cleaned up tomorrow and maybe even get the gauge mounted too.
My uncle in Germany (who unlike me speaks and reads german) is also ordering these for me:
I'm a bit excited as this means I won't have the orange indicator lenses on the bike, just these plain clear ones. I'm getting fresh seals with them too.
Re: CX500 "Bastardwing" - 28th June - Got all the cap heads sorted
Ordered a bunch of cap heads and button heads today and picked them all up just before 5pm. These will replace many of the bolts and screws around the bike. Things such as the bolts that hold the brake lever, brake line splitter and grab rail, and also screws for the brake reservoir plus many many other things.
Re: CX500 "Bastardwing" - 28th June - Got all the cap heads sorted
Cheers guys. After doing the engine, there was no way I could leave the rest of the bike too. This just means that all the fasteners which aren't replaced need a polish too.
Re: CX500 "Bastardwing" - 8th December - Video update
Ignitech ignition is in. Heated grips fitted. Throttle and choke cables in. One muffler on. The other was 1.5mm smaller in diameter at the flange AFTER I flared it and took the angle grinder to it to widen the opening. Even then it still wouldn't fit on either header. I guess that means it was 2-3 mm smaller to start with. I'm going to head out next Saturday morning and pick up a new pair (making sure to measure the flange first) so that I have one to go on and I spare in case needed in future. Some polishing tomorrow morning as I don't have a lot of time before I have to head out.
