Deco Daze, '88 CD250U. *Done*

Thought i'd start a thread for my build. It's going to be a very mild 'cafe racer' but more of a cross between a restoration & modification.

It's a 1988 Honda CD250u, they weren't available in the US. It uses the same motor as the CB two fifty (CB250N) & 250 Rebel (CMX i think it is)

Anyway, i bought the bike 'bout 18 months ago with no plates or rego (No title) and spent a little time getting it all sorted and back on the road, then decided i didn't like the look of it so stripped it.

When i first got it home.

Then it started. Almost at the point of no return in this pic' :)

After sending some bits to the soda blaster and getting them back i laid everything out, why oh why did i start ::)

So today was the time to paint some of the bits.

Then clear.

Next step is to 'de-spoke' the rims and send them along with some other bits to get soda blasted, clean motor, replace gear shift shaft seal then paint.

Will keep updating as i go.

Ther are some non factory (well not Honda anyway) parts to go on the bike to give it a "different" look.

Re: Shusenron, a restification.

More to come tomorrow.

Re: '88 CD250U, a restification.

Teasers............................an indication of my colour choices. The sprocket cover and crankcase side cover are the same colour but because of the amount of pearls in it it's hard to get a good pic', Brake housing is same colour as frame.

Re: '88 CD250U, a restification.

Cheers, it's damn hard to get a decent pic'. Hopefully i can get some good ones when it's all together.

Re: '88 CD250U, a restification.

Thats some sweet paint you're laying dude. Can't wait to see it come together!

Re: Deco Daze, '88 CD250U.

Tins done. Here's a teaser pic'.

The bike has also had a name change to go with the Art Deco theme of the paint.

Done for now anyway.

Still want to change the seat and indicators, then it WILL be done. And maybe some exhaust wrap.
