Thought i'd start a thread for my build. It's going to be a very mild 'cafe racer' but more of a cross between a restoration & modification.
It's a 1988 Honda CD250u, they weren't available in the US. It uses the same motor as the CB two fifty (CB250N) & 250 Rebel (CMX i think it is)
Anyway, i bought the bike 'bout 18 months ago with no plates or rego (No title) and spent a little time getting it all sorted and back on the road, then decided i didn't like the look of it so stripped it.
When i first got it home.
Then it started. Almost at the point of no return in this pic'
After sending some bits to the soda blaster and getting them back i laid everything out, why oh why did i start :
So today was the time to paint some of the bits.
Then clear.
Next step is to 'de-spoke' the rims and send them along with some other bits to get soda blasted, clean motor, replace gear shift shaft seal then paint.
Will keep updating as i go.
Ther are some non factory (well not Honda anyway) parts to go on the bike to give it a "different" look.
