DO THE TON - Barber Vintage Festival - Alabama October 7-8-9 2011

Got it at Harbor Freight. Was a pig-slop trough that I turned inside out and put petcocks on.

In that case, Tim ^^^, what kind of tank is that? Is it factory? Is it hard to polish? Does it vibrate and have auto nut warming feature? Sorry, I just need to know, I was trying to find one the other day at Wal-Mart.

Yeah, this looks kinda "sheepish?" ;D

On a side note, is it to early to start a "barber 2012" sticky for all of us to plot dtt world domination?!

You know we are already planning for 2012. We might as well make it official. :)

I will be there next year. Oh, yes. I will be here next year...(Wayne's World spin off)

Anybody have any good recomendations for a close hotel? I stayed at the Drury Inn this year, it was good but about 13 miles away(which did put me closer home on the way back!lol). I checked rates at the hotels right across from the Bass Pro and it was pretty high for that weekend. I'd like to be a lil closer next year since I will have my wife with me and she'll be sitting on the rear fender as she puts it.

I stayed at the hilton which is about 15ish miles away. Really good backroad that goes right to barber just outside the hotel too. Id stay there again next year, cause its as easy as one road in case my wife decides to go back to the room at any time.

I prefer to stay on site. But I understand when you're bringing the wife/kids along. After 6 years of attending this event I've finally figured it out. Don't pre buy anything. When I got there this year, I told the guy at the ticket window I was crew for a MX team. ( kinda true, I had friends that where racing. But mostly I just drank beer and smoked and anatogonized them while they tried to get ready) No verification needed. I got the all access green braclet, weekend pass, MX paddock camping pass, for $30. The camping in the MX paddock is alot nicer, its level, has some power/water and has a killer view of the track.

I say we all sign up to camp in Ducstock camping area, we'll take it over and rename it DTT Camping, its walking distance to our show area. Heck I'm planning my next build (Honda CB550) to be painted and look like a Paul Smart Ducati I have a stange sense of humor and want to taunt the poseurs who ride the Ducks.

That will be epic!

Lots of planning to be done folks - taking a lot of ideas back to.the folks at Barber to make it even better for 2012.

Other plans call for BUB speed trials at Bonneville in 2012 :)

YUP.

My XS is turning into a top-speed machine. Ported head, Web 59a cam grind, titanium valve train, 277 rephased engine, taller 5th gear... all to see if I can blow it up at 110MPH on the salt.

If you want a taste of what I'm wanting a taste of, read Jason's write-up on his run at BUB in 2011.
