DO THE TON Mama Tried IV Oct 2013 - Barber Vintage Festival

Yes, the Ace Corner is an upcharge. You get to pay extra to see exclusive vendors. ::)

You get an extra pass just like your barber ticket. When you get to the Ace Corner area, someone checks your pass and then gives you a wristband.

I did not pay for a pass. I did not feel it was worth it last year. You can spend 4 days there and still not see everything outside of the Ace Corner.

Isnt the Ace Corner where the DTT tent is going to be? Or no? I just don't want to spend the extra 25 bux if I can help it...money is tight already as it is (I know pretty much everybody else here is in the same boat...)

I believe the DTT folks will be at the front gate area like last year.
The DCC and other vendors are inside of the ACE Corner area.

They are also only letting older classic and modoified bikes in to the area just spoke to Jason.
I will have to park my other bike on the other side of the tunnel and walk in.
But my custom cafe racer will be at the ACE Corner show at the top of the hill all weekend.

I wonder if me and my buddy Randy can get a free pass into the Ace Corner. We are bringing a '49 Velocette KTT and possibly a '49 Velocette KTT powered, Manx framed racebike...

Gents, Ace corner is also the place to see the best cafe racer bike show, live music and the only place to get a beer at Barber. But yeah, if money is tight, there is plenty to do at Barber to keep you busy. If money is not tight, you'll enjoy the access and entertainment.

Tim, I'd just like to throw out there that I'd love to wrench on a beemer at barbers. That would make me happy ad long as it isn't mine!
Kiley, careful what you ask for. :) Maybe I bring my fork oil with me and change it there. Or remove the speedo/tach while I'm there. Otherwise, it doesn't need much else. I'd like to ride some of those great roads you have down there.

Done my friend. Turns out I know a thing or two about BMWs, namely /5s!

A couple pages back in this thread Tim tells how to get free ace tickets. You have to sign up to volunteer to work a booth for half of one day and you get weekend passes

Fellas, DTT will have a presence outside the Ace Corner entrance and one inside as well. So nobody will be left out and there will be a meeting place for us regardless of whether you purchased the Ace upgrade or not.
Its been mentioned but I'll throw out there again- Ace Corner is the only spot to buy alcohol at Barber, if that matters to you. I think many people are just purchasing a one-day upgrade for a smaller fee. And... half a day of working the coolest event ever will get you a free pass.

I just realized the "Ace Corner" is an upcharge to a regular weekend ticket. Regular spectators cant just wander in there?
Is there a special ticket or wristband in order to get in there?
If so, I will probably order my ticket online instead of getting it at the gate.
Also, who is staying at a Hotel? I think my buddy said he scored a room at the Hilton, like 3 miles away from the track????
If you change your mind about the Ace upgrade, I believe there will be an area at the Ace entrance to purchase a pass. There was last year.
Mr. E and I will be at a hotel, too.

If you'd like to try for the free passes, message Tim. I think there were a few volunteer spots open. Im sure the help would be appreciated. :)

To recap - DO THE TON Volunteers are receiving free Ace Upgrade passes for the weekend. Troy will sort you out on Friday morning etc.

I am also confirming availability of discounted passes for our members who cannot dedicate a specific time at the booth as a volunteer. These would be available at the main Ace Corner entry point where DO THE TON will have a tent.

We will also have a tent set up inside the Ace Corner.

teddpage the is a large group of us that will either be at the Dtt tent out side the ace corner gate or on up the hill near some other vendor spots hanging out that are not buying ace corner tickets so there will be plenty of folks outside ace corner to hang with. Ace is nice I myself just can't see the extra money like you were saying extra money is hard to come by these days and I cant volunteer cause I will have my little girl. Look forward to meeting you buddy

Well I am good to go so I don't need any passes.
I have already spoken to Jason at Dime Ciy Cycles and he said I could drop off some items outside of the gate.
I would feel better if I leave the items with my DTT brothers/sisters at the front.
I will be dropping off a wheel chock for my show bike and some race fuel and a few misc items.
I will be driving a U-Haul van pulling a 6 X 12 flat bed trailer.
I may drop my bikes off but that could take too long and I don't want to be in the way.

So I will try to have everything ready to be dropped off so I can get out of the way and go park in the trailer area.

See everyone on Friday!
Chris

Ill try to head to the DTT tent on Friday morning...but truth be told ill probably be in the pits helping my fellow racers get set up. Im going to try to wear nothing but Rust Rev shirts all weekend so ill be somewhat noticeable. Ill keep an eye out for similar looking folks!!!

Lets not forget the great phone number swap.
Hate to find out later people missed out because we had no way to connect at a gtg.

I have a question? The BREAKFAST RUN ride that DCC WAS ORGANIZING with Troy & Kiley,.. Is that FRI or SAT MORNING?
