I'm sure he's a great guy, giving his time freely and helping little old ladies across the street (before stealing purses for meth money) but do we need crap like that on the boards here. If you want to be like that, find somewhere more appropriate. I will cheerfully throw out the occasional F-bomb but there's a difference between swearing like an ass and actively likening one's self to feces. He's a peach and I notice that we're no worse off for his absence.

I'm still pretty new here, but I think overall its a really good group, and yes maybe some comments got a little out of hand. If we were all locked in a garage together this stuff would work itself out But we're not so I think we should drop this altogether and get back to cheap rear sets!
Any more ideas along this line? Did anyone see those ones on e-bay for like $130 delivered? Some guy in France making them. Didn't look like it included linkage though, just the levers and pegs. They looked alright. I was going to buy one set to see how they worked out and then let everyone know. Anyone have any experience with them?

and for the record i stand out in the crowd... i am the gym rat meat head taking pictures of old bikes after riding up on custom chops, and is 1/2 covered in tat work... iif you ever see me, i drink the high life and will always accept a free one! just dont hit on the little greek chick next to me... thats mine... if you ask to ride my bike expect that i will want to ride your girl, if you dont have a girl then i have nothign to gain from you taking out my scoot...

Maybe I'm jaded, but I don't see how anyone has really gone over the line (whatever that is) in this thread. Chill, it's the internets.
That was sort of my point with the garage comment. If it were just a bunch of guys hanging in the garage, then whatever, things are said, its funny or it isn't, you move on. But on a forum like this there are things to consider before you say something. There are some women here and certain comments made here could be construed as disrespectful to them or even masoginistic. Maybe the girls here don't care but thats not really the point. I do think that one reply to the comment in question did maybe overreact a bit but that doesn't mean they were wrong.

To put it into perspective for you guys, were we hanging out in the garage bullshitting and that comment came out I would have gleefully punched him in the face. Repeatedly. Then I'd have kicked his lame ass down the street and come back with a smile. I bet if you polled the men here, you'd get similar responses, boys may answer differently.
I don't know where you came up but speaking personally, I like women. I'm a man, I was put here to protect them from just such garbage (words or people).

I do believe we are talking about the same comment about a certain knurled (sp?) peg, correct? Yes awful. But a bunch of guys hanging in a garage are presumably at least aquainted if not friends. And I doubt you are going to just walk up and punch somebody in the face. Unless you already had history or you are a sociopath. These things get worked out differently face to face. You did read the rest of my last post, correct? the part where I say it is important to remember that you don't know who is reading these things and watch what you say. I am a gentleman and I like and respect women, (usually more than men) but I have spent enough time in locker rooms and garages to know how things go. When things get out hand you say so and that is all I was trying to do here.
