That frame is so nice. The lines are just perfect with the upswept exhaust.

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! New Photos With Paolo Tarozzi Clip Ons!

Thank You all so much for your continued support of this build, I know it truly means a lot to me and Brother bluesmokey! I am very happy to be getting back to work on this project as I can not wait to see her all together!

Brother bluesmokey has been sending some really nice parts for her this week including a set of fully adjustable Paolo Tarozzi clip ons so I mounted them today to check the fitment!

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! New Photos With Paolo Tarozzi Clip Ons!

You forgot to wear a helmet Joe!!! :)

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! New Photos With Paolo Tarozzi Clip Ons!

That is funny Brother Habanero because I almost put a helmet on for the photo of me sitting on the bike!

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! New Photos With Paolo Tarozzi Clip Ons!

Bike is looking awesome Joey!
I just looked through the thread again, and I didn't see any mention of an Oil Tank...are you planning on running Pre-Mix? Or do you have a trick up your sleeve???

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! New Photos With Paolo Tarozzi Clip Ons!

Thank You for the compliment Brother teddpage and I am happy that you are enjoying this build! We are going to run premix so there will be no oil tank.

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! New Wiseco Pistons And More Parts Are Here!

Thank You Brother Godffrey! We are planning on drilling and running the factory front brake rotor.

Brother Bluesmokey has been sending some really nice parts including a set of 1mm over Wiseco pistons, Caswell tank sealer, and a aluminum rear sprocket!

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! PBI Aluminum Rear Race Sprocket Test Fitting!

Today I removed the rear wheel from the swingarm on the RD350 so that I could test fit the new PBI rear aluminum sprocket and it fits perfectly! I also started to clean the rear sprocket hub after I removed the old gear however I believe we are going to be powder coating the hub when we rebuild the rims with new spokes, etc. You all know I like before and after photos and this hub is not finished however it is a lot cleaner than it was!

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! Tapered Steering Bearing Conversion & RK Racing Chain

Brother bluesmokey ordered this new All Balls tapered bearing kit so we could convert the RD350's factory steering stem ball bearings to tapered bearings. I want to test fit all of the new parts we are getting before we take the bike apart for paint, powder coating, upholstery, etc. so I took the front end off of the bike today and removed the factory ball bearing races from the neck of the frame and the steering stem so that I could install and check the fitment of the new bearing races and tapered bearing and everything fit perfect! I also needed to have the new bearings in place so that I could check the steering stops now that we have the new clip ons mounted and I found that we are going to have to modify the factory steering stop so that we have some more clearance between the clip on mounts and the fuel tank.

After I put the front end back on the bike I cut the new RK racing chain to the proper length and installed it so that I could check the clearance at the front of the swingarm with the new shock length we are planning on using and the clearance between the chain and the new stainless exhaust chambers. Now that I have the chain on the clearance is a little close however we are going to install a slide on the top of the swingarm right at the pivot point and once I finish adjusting the rear exhaust mounts we should have all of the clearance we need.

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! Tapered Steering Bearing Conversion & RK Racing Chain

Joe, looking at your shifter rod, I would shorten it by about .625" so the rod and levers are at about 90 degree to each other. The shifter shaft lever arm and rod seem to be at an acute angle, what do you think? I always notice this when guys do rear-set linkage or relocate shock mounts etc.
Cheers, 50gary

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! Tapered Steering Bearing Conversion & RK Racing Chain

Yes Brother you are correct, none of the linkage is actually set or adjusted as we just mounted the rear sets to test fit them for clearance and to see where the brackets, etc. need to be. The rear sets will be coming back off as we are going to be taking the bike apart for paint, etc. soon so we are going to wait for final assembly to make all the linkage adjustments. It is probably difficult to see however the shift rod probably has an inch of threaded adjustment that we can use so hopefully we will not have to shorten the rod.

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! Tapered Steering Bearing Conversion & RK Racing Chain

Brother Joey, thanks for the ultra quick reply. I should have placed a question mark at the end of my statement because I knew you'd have an answer to clear any questions.
Cheers, 50gary

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! Tapered Steering Bearing Conversion & RK Racing Chain

I do not have all the answers my friend and I still try to learn everything I can from anyone who is willing to share their knowledge with me so you know I always value what you have to say Brother!

Re: DWMS Racing RD350 Build! Tapered Steering Bearing Conversion & RK Racing Chain

I love these teaser pictures of the little details! The chambers are mean looking and are going to be one of many items that make this bike stand out when she is complete! Keep up the great work Joe and Bluesmokey... I would be a liar to say I am not jealous of this bike! hahahahah ;)

Joey what's the solution for a chain slider? Any thoughts on how it will be mounted too?
